    JENsations Purple Rein Swatch

I don’t know if everyone’s realised, but nearly all of my blog posts have a ‘cut’. This just means that there’s more pictures and normally a description of the polish and technique used in the manicure to see if you follow the link at the end that says ‘click here to see more…’. I’m not trying to trick you, it just makes the page load quicker if I don’t have all the pictures on the front page!
Today I have another swatch of a JENsations polish. I often find glitter toppers a bit tricky to apply, I always end up with buckets of clear polish piled on to my nails and no glitter in sight! For chunkier glitter like this, I’ve started painting it on to a sponge, waiting a few seconds for most of the clear polish to sink in to the sponge and then dabbing on the glitter. So far, it’s worked very well for me!
These swatches are a ‘dabbing’ of JENsations Purple Rein* over two coats of A-England Guinevere and topped with two coats of Essence Better Than Gel Nails.

    Show Off

These are the nails I will be wearing to The Nails Show on Saturday, provided they haven’t chipped/fallen off/been picked off by then because I might not get a chance to redo them before the event. Although it’s not like I’m gonna be short of nail supplies where I’m going!
I know that lots of you are going to the event and I can’t wait to meet you if you are gonna be there! I’m not exhibitioning in case some of you thought that’s why I was going. I’m just gonna be a regular Joe strolling around so if you see me, come say hi! I’ll try to wear something distinctive and I’ll tweet what I look like so I’m kinda easy to spot!

I wanted to do some of my designs that people have responded to best and that really marked milestones in this blog I’m kind of best known for; my studded nail, the gradient and now glequin honeycomb.

The base colour is A-England Galahad and I used Barry M Gold Foil for the gradient and stamping (Bundle Monster BM322).
My thumb is a ‘Nebula Nail’ and the extra polishes are Barry M White, Nail Pop Glamrock, A-England Saint George and NYC Starry Silver Glitter.

    Greendient?

Helloooo!! I feel like today marks some momentous return! I got back from my camping holiday on Friday but only had time in between for one quick post on Saturday because I’ve just been super busy with… um… I don’t know what. I’m one of those people that is just never bored. I’m always doing something even when I’m doing nothing, if you know what I mean?!
I finally had some time for a ‘proper manicure’ this evening and, despite getting very distracted watching Wilfred, managed to put it in to a blog post!

I created the gradient following my tutorial, using Cult Nails Manipulative as a base and A-England Saint George to add the fade. I finished off with two coats of Cult Nails Wicked Fast.

    Testing, Testing…

My 2012 Bundle Monster plates came yesterday so as you can imagine, it was a very exciting day here! I didn’t actually get a chance to play with them until the evening though and even then I forgot to take pictures so you’re seeing a day old mani in the pictures – please ignore any chipping!
I was lucky enough to win them in the Bundle Monster nail art competition which is becoming something of an annual tradition! But after months of anticipation, the plates are finally available to buy on Amazon.com and the Bundle Monster website. I haven’t spotted them on Amazon.co.uk just yet. If you’re in the UK, I’m pretty sure you can still buy them from Amazon.com but there is a shipping charge and they’ll take a little while to get here. I’m sure they’ll pop up on the UK site soon though.
I went a bit crazy and just tested out some of the first designs that caught my eye. The plates I’ve used here are BM322, BM317 and BM306.
The base colour is A-England Galahad* and I stamped with No7 Poolside Blue.

UPDATE! The plates are now available on Amazon.co.uk!

    Black and Greydient

Sorry for my short absence. Two days doesn’t seem like much but I get really fidgety and on edge when I haven’t blogged for a few days! I ended up having one of those weekends that makes you look forward to the week! Nothing seemed to go quite right for me and tonight is the first chance I’ve had to chill out and paint my nails.
I wasn’t sure how it would work, trying to create a gradient with a creme and a holographic polish, but I proved that it could be done with my Purple Skittle mani from a few days ago and I really love the combo. I’ve nearly exhausted every colour scheme for gradients so I abandoned colours altogether today and went monochrome!

The base colour is Rimmel Grey Matter and I added A-England Bridal Veil to create the gradient following this gradient nail art tutorial.

    Cult Nails Vicious Skittle Art

I think I know why I’ve been completely obsessed with mix and matching my manis recently. I realised it’s just an excuse for every nail to be an accent nail! I like to just paint on a base colour and rummage through my supplies until I get ideas. Today’s center piece is Cult Nails Vicious which is one of my absolute favourite purple polishes.

Here’s my best Chalkboard Nails pose! Can I pull it off with Sarah’s prowess or shall I stick to the bottle poses?
