We’ve all been there. You pull out one of your old favourite nail polishes only to find it’s gone thick, lumpy and completely unusable. Taking proper care of your nail polish collection can delay the process, but sometimes, no matter how much you coddle and love it, it will still end up gloopy. And for that, there’s one holy grail product that will bring your polishes back from the brink of doom.
I still haven’t given up on the idea of finishing the 31 Day Challenge before the end of the year! I’m slowly but surely ticking off the last few days. The next prompt to tick off my list is ‘inspired by a song’ and I took a bit of inspiration from Bring Me The Horizon’s lyric video for True Friends and some artwork that’s making the rounds featuring that umbrella.
A-England’s latest collection is dedicated to Emily Brontë, author of the world famous novel, Wuthering Heights. I’ve never read the book but have been picking up on references to Cathy and Heathcliff since I was little thanks to the Kate Bush song of the same name. We used to watch a lot of Top of the Pops 2 in my house!
I have swatches of the whole collection today and you will have already seen some of the shades popping up in my nail art recently. Of the five polishes, we have 2 bold holos (Let Me In and Spirit of the Moors), 2 creamy holos (Cathy and Wuthering Heights) and a multi-glitter in jelly (Heathcliff). All of them apply like a dream and are such regal colours which exactly what I’ve come to expect from A-England.

My 31 Day Challenge has taken on a schedule of its own, but I haven’t given up! I’m lagging way behind everyone else and I don’t think this is going to be a tortoise and the hare situation – it’ll be a leisurely stroll towards the finish line. Just to give you an idea of how behind I am, Half Moons is the prompt for Day 18 and today is September 27th. Whoops!
A-England are back with another jaw-dropping collection of inspired shades in the Rossetti’s Goddess collection. I have two polishes from the collection to share with you today: Proserpine and Incense Burner.
Two Coats + Top Coat
Proserpine is a rich, turquoise-y teal holographic polish. A-England really have a knack for taking deep shades like this and turning them in to perfect holographics. If you like this one, you also need to check out Saint George from ‘The Legend’ collection (see my swatch here)

Two Coats + Top Coat
Incense Burner is a shifter. In the shade, it looks like a scattered plum holo, but catch it under the right light and you’ll see hints of bronze and green. This is the kind of effect I’d expect to see with a flakie or duochrome topper (applied over a creme) but with Incense Burner, you get the same effect in just two coats.

You’d normally catch me wearing the classic red creme at Christmas but this year I’ve been converted to this frosty metallic red by Delush. With three coats, the colour is so deep and luxe. This shade isn’t from a holiday collection but I feel like it was made for Christmas!

I can’t get enough of this shade. White nail polish has been my go-to for plain nails these last couple of months and LakoDom immediately became a favourite from first wear! It’s a slightly grey tinted white with silver/holographic particles which makes me think of glistening snow.

I had to get a green in here somewhere but the traditional forest-y christmas tones have never been a favourite of mine. Saint George is a holographic teal polish that’s been with me for a very long time and I’ve just rediscovered it this month. I think it’s the least typically festive shade of the selection but it’s the only green I’ll be sporting this season!
This metallic polish is somewhere between gold and silver; a cool gold, if you will, and very majestic as implied by the name! The finish on this one is lovely – perfect in two coats with little (if any) streaking which is rare for foil polishes.

What’s a Christmas mani without a bit of sparkle? Well, this polish has more than a bit of sparkle; it’s literally a bottle packed full of glitter. There are silver hexes in two sizes mixed in with irridescent gold micro glitter. For the swatch above, I used 3 coats for full coverage but you can also layer it over another polish for an equally stunning effect.
