    Louder Than God’s Revolver and Twice as Shiny

      I think neon is going to be a big trend this summer and while I can’t see much of it making its way in to my wardrobe, I’m more than happy to wear it on my nails… in moderation!

    The nude base colour is Cult Nails Cruisin Nude and I used a base of Barry M White underneath the neon which is Born Pretty’s UV polish #15.
    I painted on the black frames using a nail art brush with Sally Hansen Blackout.

    Gruedient with Stamping

    I’ve had a busy week with very little time to paint my nails but I did get a chance to jazz up the nail art from my last post. It’s been a long long time since I wore any leopard print on my nails and for me, Konad plate M57 is the only way to go! I’ve tried freehanding the pattern but stamping it on is so much quicker and I know it’ll be perfect every time so I always end up getting my stamper out!

    The colours used in the gradient are Sally Hansen Green Tea and Barry M Light Blue (gradient tutorial here). I added the leopard print using Born Pretty White with Konad Plate M57 and finally, I added a few dots of Sinful Colors Call You Later with a nail art brush.
    It’s all topped off with a coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri.

    Holy Nail Art, Batman!

    I started playing Arkham Asylum months and months ago but then stopped making time to play it. Things just got crazy busy with work and I spend nearly all my free time nowadays on this blog! Well I woke up on this fine Sunday with a couple of hours to spare and decided to give it another crack. I definitely need to put a bit more time in and complete it! 
    I’ve done Batman nails before but these are distinctly more Dark Knight themed. I love Dorian Gray, it’s an incredible polish – like a gun metal grey/black. If you like your black polishes like me, check out A-England’s Gothic Beauties,

    I used A-England Lancelot as my base and A-England Dorian Gray with a nail art brush to draw on the bat. I created the gradients on my thumb and pinky using the same two polishes following this tutorial.
    It’s all topped off with two coats of Sally Hansen Insta Dri.

    Red Nose Day 2013

    Here in the UK it’s Red Nose Day tomorrow. Although it’s impossible here to avoid it, overseas readers might be unfamiliar with the concept! RND is a national annual fundraising event and you can read more about it here. Every year they sell red noses up and down the country to raise money and this year they’re di-NOSE-saurs. Amazing right? Meet Dinomite, T-Spex and Triceytops!

    The red is Rimmel Heart on Fire with two coats of Barry M Red Glitter on my ring finger. I did the small freehand details using acrylic paint and a small nail art brush. For the dotty fingers I used a base of Barry M White and then picked up a dotting tool to apply Heart on Fire.
    Finally I topped it off with a coat of Seche Vite.

    Happy Mother’s Day

    Here in the UK it’s Mothering Sunday today. My brothers and I have been laying treats on my mum all day! She’s had smellies, chocolates and flowers galore and I’m just about to go and cook a roast dinner for tea. Marks and Spencer meal deals F-T-Dubz!
    I’m still in love with the pastels from China Glaze’s Avant Garden collection recently and knew they’d be perfect for creating a girly mani for the day. I’ve also started playing with my new Winstonia* stamping plates which are incredible and also girly!

    I used China Glaze Tart-y for the Party, Life is Rosy, Dandy Lyin’ Around and Pink-ie Promise as my base colours.
    I used stamps from the first generation Winstonia plates (Winstonia Store/Amazon) W102, W111 and W119 on my thumb, pointer and pinky. If you order the plates from their online store, you can get 10% off (the plates only) with code THENAILASAURUS.
    The polish I used to stamp is the BK Matt White from Born Pretty. If you’re looking for a decent white stamping polish, look no further. I bought it after I saw it on Katrina’s Nail Blog to use as a good white base but I find it slightly too thick for normal application. This is never a bad thing for me. Runny polishes are a dime a dozen, but it’s hard to find thick ones for stamping – especially white ones! WIN!
    I used some striping tape on my middle and ring fingers to mark off the criss cross patterns before painting over them with BK White and China Glaze Life is Rosy, then peeling off the striping tape.

    Since I was 16, I’ve had a pair of headphones almost permanently attached to my person. Whenever I’m on my own, I put them in my ears and disappear in to my own little world. The best mp3 player I ever had was a Creative Zen Micro. Does anyone remember those?!
    I actually had a total of four in my time, one in almost every colour, because I’m a klutz and I break pretty much every piece of technology I touch! Even when they stopped manufacturing them, I’d be straight on eBay scouring for a new one as soon as mine bit the bullet. You can even still buy them! The symbols on the touchpad glowed blue and that’s the inspiration behind today’s manicure.
    I used China Glaze Tart-y For The Party as my base colour. The dark purple details are Barry M Blackberry and I outlined them in Calvin Klein Blue Wants to be a Millionaire.
    The glitter on my ring finger is La Femme Purple Glitter and I did the stripes on my pinky by applying a few strips of striping tape, then painting over them using the Barry M and quickly peeling them off.
    It’s all finished with a coat of Seche Vite.
