Christmas is exactly 7 weeks away so it’s about the time to start stocking up on Christmas themed goods (if you haven’t already). I’m not normally one for getting on the Christmas train this early but look at me all organised and prepared!
Now that we’re into November, I feel like it’s acceptable to start raving about Autumn/Winter everything. Starting with the latest additions to the Barry M Coconut Infusions range: the first AW collection that actually got me excited. When I laid my eyes upon it, I was immediately taken by the range of shades and just thought, ‘YES. Yes. THIS is a winter collection’. We’ve seen bolds a plenty and berry shades have started to leave a sour taste in my mouth. But a whole collection of muted tones (I’m conveniently ignoring the obligatory bold red) is something at least slightly less done.
So here’s something a little different from me today… a makeup look! With Halloween less than week away, I wanted to get in a trial run before the big night. My look is a pared back version of Brianna Fox’s Skeleton Tutorial from last year which I’ve included below – seriously worth watching her amaze tutorials! On the night, I will include the cracks, add some false eyelashes and spend a bit more time blending the shades around my eyes for a little extra glam. I also think there’s a bit of room for improvement on my ‘teeth’!
I can never make a trip to Primark without taking a gander at the beauty section. It’s always full of stuff I want but never really need. On trips past, I’ve come away with 3 sets of tweezers (the patterns were pretty), mini beauty blenders (because omg how cute but they’re sooo hard to use because they’re literally titch) and a false eyelash applicator (which I knew would be more of a hindrance than a help, but why not because lol).
Safe to say, it’s become quite the tradition for me to create a wheel of Halloween nail art ideas this time every year (you can see last year’s here and the year before here). This year, I still included a few of my favourites like ‘Scene of the Crime’ and ‘Broken Glass’ but there’s plenty of new material to keep you going.

Is it obvious that I’m neck deep in a glitter obsession at the moment? Having recently sorted through and downsized my stash, I’ve re-discovered a lot of polishes that I kind of forget I owned. One entire drawer in my Helmer is devoted to glitter polishes and there’s even a display case for the extra special ones. But I must admit, I hardly ever make an effort to rifle through and find something to wear.
I’ll probably go back to my usual glitter-neglecting self soon enough, so I took this chance to immortalise a few of them as wallpapers. These are already on my computer, phone and work computer and figured you guys might like them too!
Glitter polish is pretty as heck but it comes with its own very unique set of downsides which, depending on your commitment to the glitter cause, can often outweigh its prettiness. We’ve already solved the dilemma of removing it which was once the main deterrent. The market is flooded with peel off base coats, and you can even make your own. Failing that, there’s always the foil removal method but nobody bothers with that anymore… just get yourself a peel off base coat!
