A-England’s latest collection is dedicated to Emily Brontë, author of the world famous novel, Wuthering Heights. I’ve never read the book but have been picking up on references to Cathy and Heathcliff since I was little thanks to the Kate Bush song of the same name. We used to watch a lot of Top of the Pops 2 in my house!
I have swatches of the whole collection today and you will have already seen some of the shades popping up in my nail art recently. Of the five polishes, we have 2 bold holos (Let Me In and Spirit of the Moors), 2 creamy holos (Cathy and Wuthering Heights) and a multi-glitter in jelly (Heathcliff). All of them apply like a dream and are such regal colours which exactly what I’ve come to expect from A-England.

Cathy
This is described as an ‘eerie white grey holo with an illusory flash of blue’. I definitely picked up a hint of lilac too which really comes out in the macro bottle shot below. This swatch is 3 thin coats with top coat.
Heathcliff
At first glance, I wasn’t convinced about Heathcliff. Admittedly, it’s still my least favourite of the collection but still a beautiful polish – I’m just not one for multi coloured glitter. It’s a black jelly base packed with silvery-gold, red, blue and purple glitter.
I used three coats for full coverage which is great for a jelly. If you’re layering it up on its own, give it two top coats to smooth it over because it’s a thirsty one! You could also use it as a topper over any dark shade of polish.
Let Me In
Deep red berry. Holo. Perfect in two coats. I really love this shade and I think I’ll have to crown it my favourite from the collection just because of how fearless it is.
Spirit of the Moors
What can I say here that the pictures don’t?! Spirit of the Moors is a beautiful cobalt blue holo with a very similar formula to Let Me In. It’s very pigmented with a jelly-like consistency and a real pleasure to paint with. Two coats with top coat.
Wuthering Heights
This shade is inspired by ‘the setting of the novel: a dark, windy, stormy place’ and I think they really nailed the inspiration with this one. It’s a moody bruised grey with holo and definitely makes me think of stormy skies. I love the subtle holo in this one. This is two coats with top coat.
