Another December day, another Christmas manicure! As you all predicted I couldn't keep my nails away from the festivities for too long. These are the nails I did for the Christmas 'Do' at work. I think the phrase 'Christmas Do' is a very British thing. In the US, you'd just call it a Christmas Party right? Or do you have another name for it?
My base colour is Barry M White. For the candy cane nails, I used one coat of Seche Vite before marking off striped sections with thin cuts of scotch tape and painted on Rimmel Heart on Fire. While that was still wet I peeled off the scotch tape and, once dry, used a nail art brush to paint Barry M Red Glitter over the stripes.
The Rudolph nail is one from last year. I used Essie Glamour Purse as the base colour, Rimmel Desire for the lines and Barry M Red Glitter again for the nose. Finally, the Christmas Tree which was inspired by a Wacky Laki manicure was created using glequins from Born Pretty Store (tutorial here).
I topped it all off with two coats of Seche Vite to smooth it over.

These are beautiful! I love your tree :) In the states around my area, these events are called Holiday Parties or Christmas Parties.
ReplyDeleteLove the idea for the Christmas tree!
ReplyDeletethis is so cute! i love every nail!
ReplyDeleteOh so cute, I might do-up my nails for x-mas!
ReplyDeleteIn Australia people also occasionally will call a party a "do" as well haha. But I guess Aussie and British slang is similar sometimes.
ReplyDeleteLove this! I have no idea what a Christmas Do is haha! Is it a party?
ReplyDeleteThis is really amazing! I love it, especially the perfect candy cane stripes :)
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I was SO close to doing the same concept on my nails today, but I changed my mind. Yours came out really great, and I might give it my own try now. =]
ReplyDeleteYes, we call it a 'do' in Australia, but I think we say it slightly tongue in cheek :) Love your reindeer... the whole mani looks great together!
ReplyDeleteIt's really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYour nails are always so lovely♥
ReplyDeleteIt took me a while to understand what is Rudolph :D Here in Finland we call him "Petteri" and I have never heard the name in any other language... :D
I love those nails! I wish I could do them! Might be my new years resolution - learn how to do nail art!
ReplyDeleteLove this - it came out just great! Your candy stripes are perfection!
ReplyDeletecan you do holiday sweater nails pleaseee? please :)x
ReplyDeleteYou're right that a "do " is not an American thing. I love these nails. I am terrible with tape manis, the edges don't turn out crisp and neat like yours so I paint slightly crooked lines :) I may try this. I love how they all look so cute together.
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely! The Rudolph is so cute! x)

I'm always so impressed with how nice you can make shorter nails look! Mine always look kind of silly when they're not longer...love your tree, by the way :)
ReplyDeleteI love that you have shorter nails and manage to accomplish all of these amazing designs. It inspires me to try some decent nail art myself, even though, due to my profession, i have to have short nails. Thank you so much, you're a legend!
