    Valentine’s Nails

February 14th is quickly approaching so I thought I’d post these nails now! I didn’t start this mani with the intention of creating a Valentines mani but I wanted to do something freehand and hearts seemed like an obvious choice. Goly, I sound so cynical today!
The base coat is Barry M Raspberry and I used W7 Black for the hearts, then outlined with Sally Hansen Chrome Anemone using a nail art brush.

    Galaxy Nails… Literally

Today’s nails design was suggested by a friend and I really can’t believe I haven’t thought to do this before! You may have heard of galaxy nails, well I’ve taken them to a new level and literally painted our little part of the Milky Way on to my digits! Today, I’d like to introduce you to my elusive right hand. I’m pretty certain it’s only ever been spotted here once before.

Since Pluto was a planet when I was taught ‘The Solar System’ in school, I added him in too but it was so awkward taking these photos and trying to get it all in!
I used (the aptly named) W7 Metallic Neptune as a base and then sponged on Essence Choose Me and another polish (but I’ve completely forgotten what it was) to get the galaxy look. The sun and all the planets are completely freehanded using nail art brushes. The black outlines are acrylic paint.

    Guitar Hero Nail Art!

I think it’s safe to say that I’ve become addicted to Guitar Hero this week! I first played it at a friend’s house on Monday and by Thursday, we had it in our house and I ended up playing it for 6 hours straight. I have a blister on my finger and achy arms from rocking so hard on the drums!

I used W7 Black as a base and white acrylic paint for the thumb and button details before I topped them with colour.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to do some laundry. LOL JK, I’m gonna play guitar hero!

    In the Army…

I’m going to a birthday tonight and there is a dress up theme – ‘army’. I’m not one for spending money on fancy dress costumes that I’ll never wear again so I’m going in khaki clothing and mud/face paint, hopefully I’ll look convincing!
Fancy dress is always such a great opportunity for me to create some fun and original nail art so I painted my nails in a camouflage pattern to match the theme!
I used MUA Shade 23 as a base. To get the camo effect, I painted on random patches using BYS Fern, Barry M Mushroom and W7 Black. The insignia was created with black acrylic paint and Barry M Gold Foil.

Day 29: Inspired by The Supernatural

Today’s nails are kind of boring. I really couldn’t think of anything supernatural except for ghosts so that’s what we’re getting today! It’s funny that I never used this stamp before Halloween and now I’ve used it twice in one week!

Don’t forget to check out Cristina and Rie‘s supernatural nails today!

The base colour is W7 Metallic Neptune and I used Sally Hansen Whirlwind White to stamp the ghost from Bundle Monster plate BM223. Then, of course, I added a top coat of NYC.

    Day 25: Inspired by Fashion

I’ll be honest here – I’m not a very fashion conscious person. I’m not trying to sound conceited but I may come across like that anyway, but I believe personal style > fashion. So the first thing I did for researching today’s nails was to Google ‘Fashion’!
After a bit of searching, I stumbled upon Michael Kors’ website and fell in love with the simplicity and elegance of his dress designs. I quickly chose this dress as my inspiration.

Thankfully, Rie and Cris know a bit more than me about fashion. Head over to see their couture creations today.

    Studded Nails Original

I used W7 Black as a base colour then slicked on GOSH top coat and placed
on the bullion before it dried.
I used a top coat of NYC to seal it all in.

    Studded Nails Original

This dress is so classic yet the studs give it that rock-chick rebel vibe. I love it! I feel like such a bad-ass wearing studded nails! I’ll be wearing my biker boots and leather jacket today.
