    Well What Did You Expect?

You know that involuntary loud noise you make when you’re shopping to express surprise and joy at the same time that makes other shoppers look over at you like you just shouted ‘BOGIES’ at the top of your lungs? It’s something along the lines of a sharp intake of breath accompanied by a stupid big grin because you’ve seen something you didn’t expect to see on that shelf in front of you and it’s an absolute bargain. I know you’ve all done it!
Well I made that noise a couple of times today while I was out bargain hunting and one of them was for a shelf full of pretty polish in The Original Factory Shop. I came away with a very restrained 5 bottles including these two colours from Sally Hansen’s Xtreme Wear range for just £1 each!

The gradient/ombré trend is picking up faster than any nail trend I’ve ever seen this week so of course I had to go with the flow and create another gradient mani!

I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear polishes in Sun Kissed and Green With Envy. I applied them following this tutorial. I sponged the colours on twice today which has given better results than last time – I think the graduation is more subtle and there’s less evidence that I even used a sponge because you can’t see so many sponge marks like last time!

Black and White Challenge Day 2: Black base with White

For day two of the Black and White challenge I’ve gone for stamping again. I feel like I haven’t been doing enough of it recently and it’s like I’m losing sight of my roots but don’t worry, I’m still Sammy from the block. A lot of you reading today may not know but when I started this blog two years ago, I used to just post stamping manicures every single day!

    Stamping Plate: Konad M71
    Base Colour: A-England Lancelot
Stamping Colour: Sally Hansen Whirlwind White
    Top Coat of NYC

    Valentine’s Nails

February 14th is quickly approaching so I thought I’d post these nails now! I didn’t start this mani with the intention of creating a Valentines mani but I wanted to do something freehand and hearts seemed like an obvious choice. Goly, I sound so cynical today!
The base coat is Barry M Raspberry and I used W7 Black for the hearts, then outlined with Sally Hansen Chrome Anemone using a nail art brush.

12 Days of Christmas Nails: Day 9… Christmas Pudding

The meal is the part I’m most looking forward to this Christmas. I can’t wait to sit around the table with my family and fill myself with the traditional Christmas spread! We won’t actually be having Christmas pudding, instead favouring Apple Crumble and custard. So to make up for that – I’ll be wearing them on my nails!
My base colour is Avon’s Deluxe Chocolate and I used Sally Hansen Insta Dry Whirlwind white for the icing. The leaves are BYS Fern and the berries are La Femme Cherry Red (4th day running!).
I used a top coat of NYC CLassy Glassy to finish.

Day 29: Inspired by The Supernatural

Today’s nails are kind of boring. I really couldn’t think of anything supernatural except for ghosts so that’s what we’re getting today! It’s funny that I never used this stamp before Halloween and now I’ve used it twice in one week!

Don’t forget to check out Cristina and Rie‘s supernatural nails today!

The base colour is W7 Metallic Neptune and I used Sally Hansen Whirlwind White to stamp the ghost from Bundle Monster plate BM223. Then, of course, I added a top coat of NYC.

    Day 15: Delicate Print

Here we are at the halfway point and I’m still loving the challenge!

A friend of mine visited Canada this month and I asked her to pick me up a bottle of Sally Hansen Whirlwind White. Since I saw it on Marta’s blog here, I’ve had a lemming for it and Marta reminded me to ask my friend to grab me a bottle. So now I finally have a really, really good white stamping polish and it really is a weight off my shoulders!

Don’t forget to check out Cristina and Rie‘s challenges too!

    Snakeskin Nails… Take Two

We are switching internet providers tonight so I’m currently
sat on the floor of my brother’s bedroom with my computer plugged in to his
ethernet cable. For some silly reason it’s only the wireless that isn’t
working and apparently I’m the only person in the house who utilises the
technological miracle that is wireless internet!

I have some more ‘take two’ nails for you today featuring
one of MUA Cosmetics’ new nail shades. MUA has definitely risen in my
estimations a lot over the past few months. Each item from the basic line is only £1 so I suppose
it’s the UK’s version of Essence. One can be forgiven for being a bit sceptical
about the products at first because of the bargain price tag but since first trying
them over a year ago, I can’t see a reason to pay more than £1 for an
eyeshadow! If you are in the UK and you haven’t tried MUA yet, why on earth not?!

Anyway, I digress. Here are some more snakeskin nails for
    you!

    Plate: BM215
Base Colour: MUA – Shade 22
Stamp Colour: Barry M – Berry Ice Cream andSally Hansen Chrome – Anemone
    Top Coat of NYC

Thanks to Kari again for the inspiration!
