If you’ve been keeping up with this blog recently, you may have noticed the Sweet Color Liner Polish popping up quite often. Today’s post is wholly dedicated to this little bottle of magic nail art juice! I haven’t always got along with liner polishes but on a whim, I decided to add this one to my shopping basket and I’m so glad that I did.
I’ve always used nail art brushes with nail polish or acrylic paint for everything in my nail art. I felt like liner polishes were gimicky and almost constituted ‘cheating’. Despite this, I still tried a few but just wasn’t happy with the brush and/or paint inside – at this point I was conviced they were one big gimick.
Enter the Sweet Color Liner (you have to read that in a booming, Brian Blessed voice). A liner polish with a thin but sturdy brush and pigmented paint. I don’t think I’ll ever use anything else for painting white lines in my nail art from now on although it’s not ideal for more delicate, swirly details. It really just does what it says on the tin – lines!
To get an even finer line, I trimmed off a few bristles to make the brush even thinner and now it lets me do my thinnest freehand lines ever.
I’m not 100% sure what the paint inside is. The consistency is runnier than nail polish but it’s very, very pigmented like acrylic paint. It also dries quite quickly so you do have to keep dipping the brush to keep it replenished and prevent it from drying up. Whatever it is, it’s brilliant and works perfectly with nail polish.
I also have this in black but I’m not quite as blown away by that one. The consistency was a little too thick but a few drops of polish thinner made it more usable and it’s now a great liner. There’s also a small range of other colours and glitters that I haven’t had the chance to try yet but they’re going on the wishlist!
If anyone is on the prowl for a good liner polish or curious to try a liner for the first time, I can’t recommend Pure Color enough.

For this nail art, I used Rimmel You Had Me At Hello as my base colour. On first glance, I thought this was a plain old bright coral polish but it actually has micro gold particles that shimmer in the light so that was a nice surprise!
Of course, all the lining detail was done with the Sweet Color White Liner Polish.
The gold glitter on my index finger is Lac Attack Felix Felicis and I added a few 1.5mm white studs.
It’s all finished with two coats of Glisten & Glow HK Girl.
