    From The Vault: Galaxy Nails

I just found these pictures in my drafts list! I’m pretty sure they’re rejects from Day 19 of the 31 Day Challenge. You can see the ones I decided to post here. I like them and I recall liking them at the time but deciding the colour scheme was too similar to the ones I posted way back in February 2011 – my first ever attempt at Galaxy Nails.

I can’t remember exactly what polishes I used but I’m pretty sure I can see BYS Glittering Purple, E.L.F. Twinkle and GOSH Holographic must be in the mix because I’m holding the bottle!

Black and White Challenge Day 7: Black and White with Glitters

Glitter. I hate the stuff. I truly do. Has anyone noticed that as soon as you touch something with loose glitter on it, you’ll find pieces of glitter all over yourself for the next two days at least?! Luckily, glitter polish isn’t too bad on that account but it still has a habit of sticking to you and putting up a fight when you try to remove it from your nails.
I got off lightly with this manicure though. Because there are so many layers of polish, it wasn’t even completely dry underneath when I removed it (about 1 hour after taking the pictures) so I could actually just peel of the whole thing one nail at a time! I can’t imagine how long it would have taken me to get it all off otherwise.

Black and White Challenge Day 7
I used W7 Cosmic Black – a black jelly packed with Silver glitter – as a base. Then I took a sponge and used it to apply W7 Cosmic Mauve from the tips. Then I added some Wet n Wild White to the mix but because it’s not very opaque, it gave it a milky look. Finally I used a little more Cosmic Mauve right on the tips and used about 3 coats of NYC Top Coat to smooth things over!

If You Like It You Should Probably Put A Frame On It

I’ve had this idea in my head for a little while now. It’s not my idea – I’ve seen it floating around on Tumblr before but I’m not sure of the original source so if anyone knows the creator of this masterpiece, please let me know! So anyway, I was kind of hesitant to do this design because I thought I’d make a mess of it but it wasn’t as hard as I was expecting. I had to build up the outline a bit thicker than I originally planned because it kept going wobbly but I like the boldness of it!
I used Barry M Bright Purple as the base colour and Nails Inc Victoria to paint on the frame with a nail art brush.

A-England The Legend: Princess Tears Swatch

I don’t know if anyone noticed but I made a huge mistake in yesterdays post. Well technically the whole post was a mistake because it was a Pink Wednesday post and yesterday was a Thursday. I spent the whole day going about my business wholeheartedly believing it was Wednesday and it wasn’t until I was lying in bed that I realised I’d made a huge mistake.
Moving swiftly on! Today’s swatch is of A-England‘s Princess Tears from the holographic collection – The Legend. This is a lilac purple with glints of pastel holo. This is one of my favourites of the collection (from the ones I own anyway) because it’s so pretty and easy to wear and once you get it in the sunlight it’s completely mesmerising.

♪♫ How can somethin’ so Vicious look so pretty in pictures?

I’ve been staring at the screen for a little while trying to think of something to say here today. I considered talking about this gorgeous colour from Cult Nails but you can see how gorgeous it is without me gabbling on about it, so I’ll think I’ll just leave it at that today!

    Max Factor Fantasy Fire Swatch

Max Factor’s Fantasy Fire seems to be the new ‘it’ polish. I’m so happy this polish is actually available in the UK, it seems like we never get the cool polishes over here!
Fantasy Fire is supposedly a dupe for Clarins 230 – I don’t think I have to do much explaining there! Although I don’t own Clarins 230, this polish gives a very similar effect to the one I’ve seen from swatches of 230.
The first two pictures are one coat of Fantasy Fire over A-England Elaine* with a top coat of NYC. It definitely works best over dark colours and you can see that with even a slight change of the light, it shimmers all kinds of colours. It’s PRETTTYYY!!

And one coat of Fantasy Fire over NYC Prince Street and finished with a top coat of NYC.
