    Well What Did You Expect?

You know that involuntary loud noise you make when you’re shopping to express surprise and joy at the same time that makes other shoppers look over at you like you just shouted ‘BOGIES’ at the top of your lungs? It’s something along the lines of a sharp intake of breath accompanied by a stupid big grin because you’ve seen something you didn’t expect to see on that shelf in front of you and it’s an absolute bargain. I know you’ve all done it!
Well I made that noise a couple of times today while I was out bargain hunting and one of them was for a shelf full of pretty polish in The Original Factory Shop. I came away with a very restrained 5 bottles including these two colours from Sally Hansen’s Xtreme Wear range for just £1 each!

The gradient/ombré trend is picking up faster than any nail trend I’ve ever seen this week so of course I had to go with the flow and create another gradient mani!

I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear polishes in Sun Kissed and Green With Envy. I applied them following this tutorial. I sponged the colours on twice today which has given better results than last time – I think the graduation is more subtle and there’s less evidence that I even used a sponge because you can’t see so many sponge marks like last time!

    Tangoed Talons

I have some good news and some bad news to share with you today. I’ll start with the bad news – I’m officially unemployed. You might know that I started a job at HMV before Christmas but it was a temporary position and I knew it would come to an end at some point. The resulting good news is that being jobless means I’ll have a bit more time free for blogging. Hence the recent infusion of blogging mojo!

    Halloween Nail Art!

I wasn’t originally planning to do any Halloween nails but I had a Twitter request so of course, I had to oblige!
I used Miss Sporty Orange and Rimmel Black Satin as my base colours.
The stamps are from Bundle Monster plates BM224 and BM223 and I used white acrylic paint to freehand the skeleton.

    Day 9: Rainbow Nails

Today was a tricky one! Say the words ‘rainbow nails’ to me and my mind starts running wild! I was thinking stamping, dotting and striping all in one mani I decided reign in all that jazz and take the simple chic approach with rainbow stripes which I am absolutely over the moon with. Think ‘Sammy and the Amazing Technicolor Manicure’!

Don’t forget to peek at Cristina and Rie‘s rainbow creations today!

    Day 2: Orange Nails

Today marks the second day of the 31 Day Challenge and also my 400th blog post! Today’s criteria is ‘Orange Nails’. I can boast a total of 2 orange polishes in my collection and this is the most recent one I purchased. I really need to get some more because I looove wearing this orange. It’s from Miss Sporty and it doesn’t have a name, just a number – 323.

I used 3 coats of the unnamed Miss Sporty and a top coat of NYC.

I added a coat of Essie Matte About You and I absolutely love the result. It reminds me of orange sorbet ice cream. Yum!

Head over to see how Rie and Cristina are getting along with the challenge!

This is another from Carli’s giveaway. I love this one – it dries matte and bright orange but I put a top coat on to preserve the stamping and it turned a slightly darker, blood orange.

    Konad Plate: M57
Base Colour: Jay Jays – Ablaze
Konad Colour: L’Oreal LaquiResist – 198 Black Bean
