    Diamond Jubilee Nail Art!

In the UK this weekend, we’re celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee! This is only the second Diamond Jubilee in British history so I think Elizabeth deserves a good party. Today, the 2nd of June, marks exactly 60 years since she was crowned Monarch in 1953 but the celebrations are going on right through to Tuesday with a long bank holiday weekend. This does nothing but enforce stereotype that Brits are obsessed with royalty and the Queen. But hey, it’s all good fun if you ask me! I hope everyone has a great weekend, whatever you’re up to!
I spent way too long on this manicure. It took at least two hours because I kept making mistakes and having to restart nails so by the time I’d finished, I felt like my back had been snapped in half!

If anyone wants to know what polishes I used or where I got all the bits, just ask in the comments. There’s way too much going on here for me to link it all up!

    Happy Malteaster!

Happy Easter everyone! Today I have some easter chocolate themed nail art to show you. I’ve seen a lot of Creme Egg nail art and, sure those things are yummy and all but have you tried Malteaster Bunnies?! These things are frikkin delicious and since they started selling them at Easter a few years ago, they’ve overtaken Creme Eggs as my favourite Easter chocolate. I always get upset when they start disappearing from shelves after Easter and normally start stockpiling them in the hopes that my stash will last until next February when they start selling them again. In reality, it lasts two weeks because they’re too yummy to save!

The red base colour is from L’Oreal and I picked it up recently for 39p. I can’t find the shade name on the bottle though! I’ve been looking for a true red for ages but I always end up buying more raspberry toned reds so this finally fits the bill.
I used white acrylic paint with a nail art brush for the writing. The chocolate bunny is Barry M Mushroom outlined in black acrylic paint. The little details are NYC Lexington Yellow and Miss Sporty Orange.

    Birthday Nails!

Tomorrow is my 21st birthday! I’m going out tonight with some friends to celebrate with drinks (read: lots of drinks) and revelry and these are the nails I’m sporting.
I got the idea from Trincess at Emerald Sparkled who took inspiration from The Illustrated Nail. The title of Trincess’ post, ‘Look Rich Be Cheap’ has stuck in my head since the first time I read it because it pretty much sums up my life!

I used two coats of Cult Nails Time Traveler as a base, then used a slow drying top coat and placed on these sequins from Viva La Nails using a cocktail stick dipped in the clear polish to make the end sticky.
I used GOSH Metallic Blue to paint on the XXI and finished it off with a couple of coats of NYC In A New York Minute just to smooth things over.

    Valentine’s Nails Take Two

I’m such a Valentine’s Day cynic. There’s no real reason this day has to exist but we all go along with it anyway. I won’t go in to it too much because you’ll all think I’m a crazy spinster!
I already posted a Valentine’s manicure but this one’s for you guys… I love every single one of you for reading this blog! Happy Valentine’s Day!

The base colour is Cult Nails Quench. I used Sally Hansen Chrome Anemone for the lettering and the stamp from Bundle Monster plate BM02. The pink heart is Kriston 16 and I used Barry M Silver Foil for the accents.

    Valentine’s Nails

February 14th is quickly approaching so I thought I’d post these nails now! I didn’t start this mani with the intention of creating a Valentines mani but I wanted to do something freehand and hearts seemed like an obvious choice. Goly, I sound so cynical today!
The base coat is Barry M Raspberry and I used W7 Black for the hearts, then outlined with Sally Hansen Chrome Anemone using a nail art brush.

    I have a job!

I started a new job this week as a retail assistant in HMV. For my first day, I painted my nails to match the uniform and I thought I’d do a quick post to show you!
From a conversation I had on Twitter, I gather that HMV definitely exists in Singapore, Canada and obviously here in the UK, but there are no stores in the USA so apologies if you don’t recognise the imagery!
I used A-England Lancelot* as a base. For the lettering and logo, I used white acrylic paint and Nails Inc Shoreditch. The lettering was all done with a dotting tool. My pinky is a stamp from Bundle Monster plate BM225 using Sally Hansen Chrome Anemone.
