    Take A Guess…

This nail art is a little different from the kind if stuff you normally see here. I wasn’t really sure if I liked it at first but after wearing it for a few hours I’ve come round and decided it’s quite an interesting look. I think it looks a lot like camo print in groovy colours and I’m not going to reveal exactly how I did it today because there’s a tutorial coming later in the week. I used one tool to complete the look and it wasn’t a nail brush. I’d love to hear your guesses, I think you’ll be surprised when you find out what it is!

    Polishes used:
China Glaze Tart-y For The Party
    China Glaze Sunday Funday
    China Glaze Pink-ie Promise
    Barry M Gelly Blueberry
    Barry M Gelly Greenberry
    Seche Vite Top Coat

    Stripe Me Down

I am getting completely obsessed with striping tape manis. The possibilities are just endless and I find myself reaching for the rolls again and again recently. In hindsight, this was too subtle of a colour combo to pick for photographing under a bright light. The contrast was much more visible in real life but hopefully you can see it well enough in the pictures.

I used China Glaze Passion for Petals as the base colour on my ring finger and Essie Navigate Her on the rest. I used one coat of Seche Vite and waited 15 minutes before applying striping tape first in lines straight from cuticle to tip, then diagonally between those lines using a pair of pointy tweezers.
Next I painted on one thick coat of Barry M Greenberry one nail at a time and removed the tape while that was still wet. I topped it all off with one coat of Seche Vite.

    Pink and Hearts

Happy Valentines Day. Here’s some nail art and stuff.
To start, I used two coats of Barry M Lychee on my thumb, middle finger and pinky and one coat of Deborah Lippmann Fashion on my pointer and ring fingers.
I created the gradients following this tutorial with China Glaze Life is Rosy*.
I used striping tape to mark off the lines on my middle finger, applied one coat of Life is Rosy and then peeled off the tape while that was still wet.
Using a nail art brush, I filled in the ‘outside’ of the hearts on my pointer and ring fingers using China Glaze Pink-ie Promise and Snap My Dragon respectively. Then I painted the silver lines using Barry M Silver Foil.
It’s all topped off with two coats of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri.

    Join The Dots

I’ve spent my evening getting ready for tomorrow’s day trip. Some friends and I are going to a theme park called Drayton Manor which is about two and a half hours drive north and I am so so so excited! I always like to be prepared for these kinds of trips so I already have my rucksack filled with a packed lunch, spare clothes, camera and all the other standard day trip paraphernalia!

    Got Daisies?

This is my favourite so far of all the ones I’ve done with the new Bundle Monster plates. I wasn’t sure how it would turn out when I decided to add a bit of extra detail by filling in the flowers. Sometimes, especially if I pick a bad colour, details like that can make things look overdone but this isn’t one of those times.
I wouldn’t expect that green/blue to compliment the purple shades as well as it does but it’s just one of those lucky combinations that works without even trying.

    BYS Fools Paradise

Tonight I went to see Rango with some friends – it’s now in my top 3 animated films ever. Every frame looks so perfect and the humour is just up my alley. I was more in the mood to see Battle: LA but I’m so glad we saw Rango instead.
It seems like when I watch films, I concentrate more on the aesthetic than what’s actually happening in the story. I think this is why I love films like Tron: Legacy, The Cell, and Legend of the Guardians which I know plenty of people don’t for one reason or another. I just love watching them for the sake of watching them. They don’t have to please my brain when I can just drink them up with my eyes.

How do you like my new banner? I’m not too sure about it so I might make another one or go back to the old one soon.
