Art Deco Inspo: New Year’s Nail Art

It’s nearly time to wave goodbye to 2016 and I know a lot of us will be happy to see it go. On the whole, it really does seem like 2016 was a pretty terrible year but perhaps that’s because I live in the same pop culture as everyone else on Twitter and I just got sucked into it all. Whatever your thoughts on the last 12 months, I hope everyone is rounding off the year with fun festivities and killer nails! Read more

If you follow me on Instagram you will have seen a very coy sneak peek of these nails yesterday and since it’s my absolute favourite mani for a while I had to honour them with a blog post. I also wanted somewhere to put the video tutorial so you guys could see how I got the gradient effect in the stamp. So, hey if you’re back here from Instagram! Read more

    Quilted Nail Art Tutorial

Quilted Nail Art Tutorial by The Nailasaurus
I got my hands on Adobe Premiere over the weekend and spent the better part of Sunday getting to grips with it. I’ve been itching to get some more professional software for a while and there’s a lot for me to learn but I’m excited to start making videos (slightly) more regularly and actually having them turn out the way I envision them.

I learn best by jumping in so I went right ahead and filmed a quick tutorial for a quilted nail art look that I’ve seen floating about. This is only my second time trying the technique so I’m still learning too. I can spot a few bald patches where I went in too hard with the pin but you can learn from my mistakes! Make sure your polish is dry enough before you start making dents in it. I certainly will next time. Read more

31 Day Challenge, Galaxy, Nail Art

    Turquoise Glittery Galaxy Nails

I’ve been excited about getting to the Galaxy Nails from Day 1 and I knew I was going to use Fool’s Gold as my base. It’s definitely not meant to be a realistic representation, but I think abstract galaxy nails are some of the prettiest.

    For the Nails…

I used piCture pOlish Fool’s Gold as my base colour. I sponged on piCture pOlish Totes, A-England Let Me In and Barry M Coconut for the galaxy effect.

No galaxy nail at is complete without a sprinkling of China Glaze Fairy Dust so I applied a thin coat of that before freehanding and dotting on the stars using White Acrylic Paint.

Finally I finished it off with Glisten & Glow HK Girl Top Coat.

There’s a Galaxy Nail Art Tutorial here.

31DC2015: Half Moons with a Tutorial

My 31 Day Challenge has taken on a schedule of its own, but I haven’t given up! I’m lagging way behind everyone else and I don’t think this is going to be a tortoise and the hare situation – it’ll be a leisurely stroll towards the finish line. Just to give you an idea of how behind I am, Half Moons is the prompt for Day 18 and today is September 27th. Whoops! Read more
