Christmas is getting closer and I’m on to the final phase of my Christmas shopping – the stocking fillers. I love picking out little gifts that are cute and handy, and I get an extra kick of the warm and fuzzies when I know it’s something they’re going to get some real use out of.
Now, I know most of you reading this will be nailistas yourself and don’t need my help picking out nail art gifts, but hey, maybe there’s a certain someone you know who might benefit from a subtle nudge and this quick read?

I learn best by jumping in so I went right ahead and filmed a quick tutorial for a quilted nail art look that I’ve seen floating about. This is only my second time trying the technique so I’m still learning too. I can spot a few bald patches where I went in too hard with the pin but you can learn from my mistakes! Make sure your polish is dry enough before you start making dents in it. I certainly will next time.

Even though I have a huge arsenal of nail art brushes that I’ve collected over the years, at the core are a few of my staples that I reach for time and again without even thinking. Finding the perfect nail art brush is not an easy task and you’ll probably go through a few duds before you find the one that’s the perfect length, stiffness and thickness for exactly the task you need it for. To save you a bit of time in your hunt for the best nail brushes out there, here are my absolute favourites.

When I posted a posted a shot of my Hello Kitty mani on Instagram last week, you guys got pretty excited. Seems Kitty White has a lot of fans out there!
So in case you didn’t know, OPI have teamed up with Hello Kitty for a range of nail polishes which was obviously met with a hot dose of buzz and anticipation. There are a total of 12 polishes in this collection, but 6 are salon exclusive shades. The 6 that I have are the ones that will be hitting shelves in stores: 5 Apples Tall, Let’s Be Friends, Look at my Bow!, Spoken From The Heart, Super Cute in Pink and Charmmy & Sugar. They’re all in the purple / pink / red range – so all quite, what I would call, girly shades.

I still haven’t given up on the idea of finishing the 31 Day Challenge before the end of the year! I’m slowly but surely ticking off the last few days. The next prompt to tick off my list is ‘inspired by a song’ and I took a bit of inspiration from Bring Me The Horizon’s lyric video for True Friends and some artwork that’s making the rounds featuring that umbrella.
