Payday. Payday. Gotta get down on Payday.

Tomorrow will be my first payday for almost two years so I’m super excited! While I was in Uni I was lucky enough that I didn’t need a job (just to be clear, I wasn’t sucking on a silver spoon the whole time, I was just very scrupulous when it came to spending the money that I did have!).
My eBay watch list has tripled in size this evening and I have a post-it stuck to the wall in front of me with a list of stuff I want to buy! The first thing on that list is the Babyliss Big Hair styler which I have been drooling over for months. If anyone’s tried it I’d be very interested to hear what you think of it.

    Would You Buyasaurus?

I’ve been thinking for a while about painting my own nail sets and selling them. Last week, I finally got round to ordering some sets after the lovely Paige gave me a link to a good seller on eBay. I need to do a bit more research about pricing etc. but I’m trying to gage whether anyone would be interested in buying my sets. They will mostly be freehand designs but I’ll take personalised orders for any nail design you’ve ever seen on this blog! So… would anyone consider buying a set of nails from me?

    Flowers in the Window

I was ready for work an hour early today. Not on purpose, I just got my times muddled up but luckily I caught a glimpse of the clock just as I was walking out the front door! So I thought I would slip in a quick post before I leave.
This pink has been in my collection since before I even started blogging and is nearly all used up. I have to really work to scrape the polish out of the bottom of the bottle but it’s totally worth it to get this classy pink on my nails. If more pinks were like this, I would probably wear the colour more often but the only ones I ever see seem to be too bright or glittery or metallic for my taste.

    Try My Two Tone

This mani, like yesterday’s, came about when I just got too carried away trying to add a dash of whatever came to mind!
I knew I wanted to use scotch tape and a stamp design so I did the base colour and stamp and left it overnight to dry and to give me time to decide what to do. ‘Blue’ I thought, but when the blue was on it just looked too clunky so I thought I’d set myself the challenge of trying to line up the stamps to get a two-tone effect on my nails. Turns out I needn’t have bothered because the pattern is irregular so you wouldn’t even notice if it wasn’t matched. I think I’ll set myself the mission of trying it with a more uniform pattern to see if I can get it to match up.

To create the two tone look, I sectioned off the top part of my nail with scotch tape and painted on Barry M Cyan Blue. I removed this tape straight away and let the blue dry. Then I lined up more strips of tape with the blue polish and stamped over it with GOSH Metallic blue, attempting to line up the patterns and added another top coat.

How do you guys feel about me using larger pictures in my blog posts? All the pictures I post are click through’s anyway so you can see a bigger version if the mood takes you, but I thought I would go bigger on the main page. Do you like it or do they just take up too much space?

Bit of This. Bit of That.

This is one of those mani’s that I was constantly looking at and thinking ‘I could add this’. There’s a very real danger there of it turning into a tacky abomination of a manicure but I think I managed to reel myself in enough to leave it at a slightly over the top mumble jumble of things!
It was originally just a nude nail and I wasn’t going to apply any kind of nail art but I wanted to try out my Barry M Cyan Blue for stamping because I’ve had it for quite a while and it’s gone too thick to really paint my nails with anymore. It actually worked really well! It would not have been this opaque when I first bought it but over time as it’s thickened, it has turned in to a stamping polish!
The glitter is one that I found in a £1 bucket. It’s not really packed with glitter so it’s really just for layering. It reminds me of China Glaze Medallion. It’s got gold glitter and holographic hexagonal pieces.

    You Tube Take Two

I made a new video today to demonstrate the basics of Konad. I know I already made one but I took it down because I just hated it. The lighting was terrible and it was in 4:3 so the video was squashed and OMG I CAN’T HANDLE THAT KIND OF IMPERFECTION!

Phew! So yeah, in case you didn’t notice I am a bit of a perfectionist and this video is way more up to standard.
So please… watch, enjoy and leave some feedback if you have the time!

Also, if anyone’s interested I made my first make-up tutorial yesterday! It’s called ‘How To: Perfect Winged Eyeliner in Less than Two Minutes’ and it’s just a very quick video of me applying my eyeliner for anyone that was curious about my technique. If you’re interested you can watch that here or on my channel. I’m working on more detailed tutorials but I still haven’t decided whether I will be talking in any videos!

    Leave It To The Professionals

Sorry for the eerie silence around here. I’ve been busy this week looking for a full-time job since I don’t think I’ll be going back to University in September. These are my ‘interview’ nails, I don’t want to wear anything too loud so I went for a nude with some subtle stamping.
