    My eBay Collections

    There’s a new way to shop on eBay and I’m pretty certain most of you guys are going to dig it. eBay have just launched Collections which is a Pinterest-esque feature that introduces a very visual element to browsing the site. I was invited to try it out a bit early and I’ve already built up 12 collections of mostly nail related items!
    You browse collections in a similar way to Pinterest but the difference here is if you see something you want, you can buy it in just one click. I get so frustrated when I find an amazing product on Pinterest but it’s got a dud link and I can’t find out where to buy it. There’s none of that mussing here… I see, I want, I buy!

If any collections catch your eye, just click follow and whenever items are added to that collection, you’ll see it on your home feed.

    I think mine was a pair of brown fluffy boots that I won about 4 years ago for £10 and wore until the soles fell off! Oh the trends of days past!

    Minty Glitter and Chevron Nail Art

    Whenever I pass a Claire’s Accessories, I can’t help but look in at the nail polishes ever since I found an amazing silver holographic glitter in there. Today I almost couldn’t believe my eyes when I was met with an amazing selection of indie-esque polishes on the shelf including some neon glitters. Considering that very few, if any, mainstream cosmetic brands in the UK have conquered the quirky glitter trend, I was pleasantly surprised to see these kind of polishes in Claire’s and I picked up three of them – a chunky neon mix, a blue neon glitter and this pastel green shimmery based glitter.
    These polishes run at £3.00 each and are now finally available to purchase online at claires.co.uk. I strongly suggest you take a look through the selection if you like drool-worthy glitter combinations and grab the silver holographic if you can!

    For the glittery nails, I used Sally Hansen Green Tea as my base colour and then applied two coats of Claire’s Shiver.
    To create the chevrons, I laid down a base of Barry M White followed with a thin coat of Glisten and Glow HK Girl to make it dry quickly. Once that base was completely dry, I cut scotch tape in to thin chevron stripes using some craft scissors and applied them to my nails.
    I painted over it all using W7 Black one nail at a time and quickly removed the tape while the black polish was still wet.
    It’s all topped off with two coats of HK Girl to smooth everything over.

    Happy Saint David’s Day!

    I have never been able to decide whether I’m English or Welsh as my family is English and I was born in England but I’ve lived my whole life in Wales, albeit very close to the border. I tend to float between the two and with my generic British accent, I can pull them both off pretty convincingly! Since it’s Saint David’s Day today, the mood is decidedly Welsh and I’ve created some nail art for the occasion.

    My first finger is the Welsh flag, or at least my simplified interpretation of it. I set down a base of Barry M White and freehanded on the Welsh Dragon using Rimmel Heart on Fire. I added the green in last using Sally Hansen Grass Slipper.
    On my ring finger, I’ve painted a Daffodil – the national flower of Wales. I used Barry M Mist as my base colour and freehanded on the flower using a nail art brush with NYC Lexington Yellow and Sally Hansen Sun Kissed.
    For the remaining fingers, I used Rimmel Heart on Fire, Barry M White and Sally Hansen Grass Slipper.
    It’s all topped off with a coat of Glisten and Glow HK Girl.

    The Lacquer Legion: Adoration

    For today’s Lacquer Legion nail art, I kept coming back to this idea of gradient with chevrons peeking through. I’ve only done this kind of nail art once before but every time I come across it on Instagram or Pinterest, I’m reminded how much I truly adore it.
    As far as I’m aware, this nail art was created by Storm and Stars and she has a great tutorial here.

    For these nails, I used Jindie Nails K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid) from the upcoming Recover-Me Collection as my base colour.
    I used Barry M White as the base for the nails where I was creating the gradient. I followed Storm and Stars’ tutorial using Jindie Nails K.I.S.S and Collection 2000 Minx to create the gradient.
    For the stamping, I used Bundle Monster Plate BM315 and BK Matte White
    It’s all topped off with a coat of Glisten and Glow HK Girl.

    There is Beauty in Simplicity

    I really love simple geometric freehanded nail art although it’s something that I don’t count myself as particularly good at. When you’re working with such a simple design, you really have to put a lot of thought in to the colours to make it work. It’s something that I want to practice as I absolutely adore these kind of looks whenever I see them on other nail artists. So I’m getting the ball rolling today with some geometric nail art.

    I started off with a base colour of Barry M White.
    Once that was dry, I used a black striper from Born Pretty Store and Barry M Guava with a striping brush to freehand on the details.
    I topped it all off with two coats of Glisten and Glow HK Girl top coat.

    Baby Blue Quilted Nail Art

    Yesterday I asked what nail art I should do next on Facebook and one of the suggestions was a Quilted Nail Art. I’ve only done this kind of nail art once before and I totally defeated the object when I put a top coat over it! It smoothed over the quilted effect so it just looked like a diamond pattern on my nails.
    This time around, I used a textured polish and skipped the top coat to get a very nice, 3D quilted effect!

    I started with a base of Essie Bikini So Teeny and used a coat of HK Girl to dry it nice and quickly on the nails where I was planning to do the quilting.

    I used striping tape to mark off a criss cross pattern on my nails. Next I painted two coats of Barry M Pearl Lady over the top.and removed the tape while that was still wet.

    The swirly decal is from Born Pretty Store and I just attached that with some clear polish and added two top coats to seal it in. And finally I painted two coats of Barry M Pearl Lady over Bikini So Teeny on my pinky finger.

    Tooty Fruity

    Today’s nail art features an amazing fruity coral shade from piCture pOlish called Electric Dream. In the bottle, the colour looks like a shimmery coral but on the nails it really pops a lot more pink with loooads of shimmer!

    The main colour here is piCture pOlish Electric Dream and I added some simple nail art using a Pink Tease White Nail Art Striper.

    For the accent nails, I started with one coat of Barry M White then added two coats of W7 Salt n Pepper.

    It’s all topped off with two coats of Glisten and Glow HK Girl.
