    Born Pretty Prettiness

I want to take a few minutes today to tell you about Born Pretty Store. I buy so many of my nail art supplies from them so I’m gonna give them a quick shout out. I know I go on about it all the time, but I really do love a bargain and Born Pretty have the cheapest prices of any online nail art supply store I know about. They’ve even been nice enough to offer a 5% off coupon for all you lovely readers, just enter SA5X31 at the checkout.

They sell everything you could ever need for your nail art from acrylic powder and brushes to fimo slices and rhinestones. Delivery is free worldwide and it takes about 2 weeks for my items to get to me here in the UK which isn’t too long to wait if I’m not desperate for the stuff and I really don’t mind because of the low prices.

I should probably mention, lest I get accused of anything unsavoury, that I’m not affiliated with Born Pretty in any way and will not benefit financially or in any other form from you clicking any of the links in this post or using the discount code. I just really like their store!

25% off at Viva La Nails!

I’ve heard legends of Black Friday but being in the UK, I’ve never had the chance to experience a Black Friday sale! Viva La Nails are running their own Black Friday sale this weekend and you can get 25% off everything, and that means EVERYTHING using the code BLACK

I’ve lined up a few of my picks from their shop below. Viva La Nails is where I got the gold bullion used to create my now notorious studded manicure so if you’ve been thinking of recreating the look or have your own ideas for using those little bouncy balls, I’d snap up a pot or two today.
    Code: BLACK
code valid Friday 25th November – Sunday 27th November 2011

Best Haul I Ever Did Have (Warning: Long Post!)

Hey everyone. Sorry I’ve been a bit vacant and aloof the last week. I had to resit one of my examinations today because I only got 34% in the topic when I took it in January. I don’t think it went very well but life must go on.
In my sorrow, I headed straight for the shops. Since I was in the city anyway I figured I may as well make a day of it!
I need a new top coat and I was thinking yesterday about what colours I would like to buy next. So I was on the look out for a Nude (similar or exactly the same as the one in yesterday’s mani) and a Turquoise (similar to my favourite ever nail colour).

I ended up purchasing FIVE polishes within 30 minutes which is very extravagant for me. Don’t worry about my budget – I dipped into my savings for this spree!

    Left to Right:
    Barry M – Cyan Blue
    Barry M – Mushroom
    No7 – Blackberry
NYC – Quick Dry Top Coat (Grand Central Station)
    NYC – Prince Street
So I picked up the Barry M Blue in place of the Turquoise I wanted, and the Mushroom instead of the Nude.
I have to tell you about the amazing offers I got on these because I am the biggest bargain hunter around. I always have a browse between Boots and Superdrug to see which store has the best offers or prices on the products that have caught my eye.
At present the Barry M Polishes are on offer at 2 for £5 in both stores (or £2.95 each). When the price is the same I favour Boots because I get my Advantage Card points in there.
I also noticed that you receive a voucher for £5 off No7 or Ruby and Millie when you spend £5 in store. Since I was going to buy the Barry M’s for that price anyway, I got the voucher, then ran over to the No7 counter to pick out a Nail Polish. So with the money off, the No7 cost me £1.75!!
If you are a fan of No7 Cosmetics anyway, when they have this offer on, ALWAYS buy something for £5 before you get your No7 stuff as you aren’t losing out on anything. I basically got my Barry M’s for nothing.
The NYC polishes were 2 for £3.50 (or £2.49 each) so I got them in there. I think Superdrug is the only official stockist of NYC in the UK along with other brands such as GOSH and M.U.A.
I saw a turquoise/green colour by Rimmel that I loved called Sky High but it was £3.49 – too much for me to spend on one polish. If it goes on offer I may be tempted to buy it but until then I will be looking out for a budget dupe.
Also check out PHD’s blog for my entry to this week’s contest – Just Tips.
Wow I didn’t realise how much I’d written and I still have so much to tell you all! Plus some tags coming up in the next week. Thank you so, so, SO much to everyone who has tagged me for awards!! I haven’t forgotten, I’ve just been rushed off my feet these last few weeks.
I’m off to watch a bit of Mad Men and try out these babies before I go back to bed since I only got 3.5 hours sleep last night 🙁

A bit of babbling – I will forgive you if you don’t read this

I will get to the interesting bit before I start babbling so… here are the polishes I bought on Wednesday:

    Left to right:
    Barry M – Fuschia
George @ Asda – Twister, matte finish
    Barry M – Raspberry
Barry M Polishes and Lip Glosses areon offer at 2 for £5 in Boots at the moment.

And here is my current collection of chromes. They are really good for stamping, so I love them loads.
They go in order of acquisition from left to right.
There is a little story behind these.
My Mum gave me my first one (Garnet Chrome) for stamping when it got too thick for her to use. Since that started to run out I have been desperately seeking any I can get my hands on. She bought them as discontinued stock so I knew the search wouldn’t be easy.
I bought the second one (Lilac Crystal) from Martian Delights. I was a bit dissapointed because it’s pigmented enough for stamping but too runny.
A few days ago, my Mum gave me ‘Amber’ which is, again, amazing. The day before that, I bought ‘Anemone’ on eBay for £2.29 and it arrived today.
So if you like stamping and you ever see one of these – nab it!

    Now I will babble…

I have a lot of time on my hands at the present. That’s the reason for all of these loooong posts – sorry.
I have no job (not out of choice) and no school so I spend my days doing nothing much in particular – but here are some of my favourite bum activities…

    • Playing Playstation (Harry Potter Lego and COD)
    • Shopping (with money I don’t have)
    • Watching/catching up on old TV series’ (Mad Men, Arresteed Development) because I have used up all the current ones (Grey’s, Desperate Housewives, The Mentalist)
    • Cooking/Baking
    • Trips to the Cinema (I can’t wait for Inception!)

And of course blogging – but I did that before, when I was productive too, so it doesn’t count.
By the by – I got the Results for my first year at University yesterday. Well, not a breakdown, but a pass/fail mark. I got a fail which I knew I would because I failed my ‘Priciples Of Business Managent’ exam in January. I had to call my tutor to see which modules I hadn’t passed and would have to resit and she said it was just that Business exam so I didn’t fail any of my summer exams!! I was chuffed to say the least!

For any make-up fans in the UK

In this week’s more magazine (the one with Lily Allen on the front) there is a voucher for a free Barry M Dazzle Dust @ Superdrug worth £4.50. The magazine is only £1.50 and you can chose from any of the shades.

I popped in today to get one (I chose No. 39 – Tan) and also came away with two new NYC polishes:

A new top coat – ‘In A New York Color Minute’ Quick Dry
Hopefully it will live up to my favourite NYC Top Coat that I can’t find anywhere 🙁
    and

Colour No.238B1 – MoMa (Konadicure up in a sec)

    Which were two for £3.50.

    INCredible Offers

If you live in the UK, I know of a few amazing Nails Inc. offers.

In Boots you just have to buy any two Diet Cokes (£2.36) and you get a free limited edition Nails Inc polish. There are 4 city-themed colours to choose from – Milan (Red), New-York (Fuschia Pink), London (Nude) and Paris (Purply Pink).
I would have had London but they were all out when I was there, so I came away with Paris.

I also bought Barry M Berry Ice Cream

You can also buy InStyle magazine for £3.60 with a choice of 3 colours – Mink (Grey/Beige), Beach (Coral) and Candy (Lilac). I saw this in the supermarket yesterday but they only had Beach left and I didn’t like it. I’m definitely gonna keep my eye open for Mink though!

There is also a ‘20% off Nails Inc Online’ offer on the InStyle Magazine website, here.

It has to make you wonder why Nails Inc are so desperate to flog off all of these polishes when they charge £10.50 a bottle in store.
I now have 3 Nails Inc polishes and I got them all for free. They are pretty good but nothing special so I’d rather stick to cheaper brands and get more colours for the same price.
