    Let’s Build a Frenzy

This Hard Candy polish was in an amazing package I received from the lovely Kim from A Polished Addiction. She was kind enough to send me a birthday package containing 10 polishes from the US and they’re all absolutely stunning. The package included my first Color Clubs, Hard Candys and my second and third OPI bottles!
Despite my addiction to nail art, I’m not much of a polish connoisseur. I’m sometimes aware of new collections coming out but generally speaking, I’m clueless when it comes to salon brands or anything that’s not sold here in the UK!

    My Bundle Monster Competition Entry!

Bundle Monster are releasing a new set of plates very soon and they’re running a competition through their Facebook for the chance to win a set! As a long time lover of the BM sets, I couldn’t pass up this opportunity so I submitted a manicure! For my entry I used Bundle Monster plate BM210 with A-England St George over a base of BYS Kung Fu Blue. I used Barry M Gold Foil to accent the design on my ring finger.
If you like my entry, I’d love it if you could head over and vote for me in the competition by clicking here or on the picture below.
    Thank You!

    Well What Did You Expect?

You know that involuntary loud noise you make when you’re shopping to express surprise and joy at the same time that makes other shoppers look over at you like you just shouted ‘BOGIES’ at the top of your lungs? It’s something along the lines of a sharp intake of breath accompanied by a stupid big grin because you’ve seen something you didn’t expect to see on that shelf in front of you and it’s an absolute bargain. I know you’ve all done it!
Well I made that noise a couple of times today while I was out bargain hunting and one of them was for a shelf full of pretty polish in The Original Factory Shop. I came away with a very restrained 5 bottles including these two colours from Sally Hansen’s Xtreme Wear range for just £1 each!

The gradient/ombré trend is picking up faster than any nail trend I’ve ever seen this week so of course I had to go with the flow and create another gradient mani!

I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear polishes in Sun Kissed and Green With Envy. I applied them following this tutorial. I sponged the colours on twice today which has given better results than last time – I think the graduation is more subtle and there’s less evidence that I even used a sponge because you can’t see so many sponge marks like last time!

    Saint George the Stamper

It seems that I’m using the same couple of colours for stamping these days. If it’s not silver or gold, it’s black or white. I think I need to rummage in my stash and start experimenting with some new colours to see if they work for stamping.
I wouldn’t normally choose a design with so many edges! My pattern choices most days are very organic and swirly so I thought I’d try something geometric and I love the way it looks. Very funky.

A-England The Legend: Saint George Swatch

As I mentioned on the weekend, I was saving my favourite pick from The Legend collection to show you last. This beauty is Saint George – a combination of turquoise, emerald and teal and ZOMG, it’s a holographic! I knew as soon as I saw previews of this collection that this colour would have a special place in my heart and it’s now one of my favourite polishes ever.

The colour shifts from deep teal indoors to a sparkly turquoise when you see it in the sun thanks to all the sparkly holo particles that come out in the natural light. I truly can’t get over how exquisite this polish is. There’s no doubt that Adina, the womanpower behind A-England, is a polish goddess.

    A-England The Legend: Dragon Swatch

A-England’s ‘The Legend’ collection is a very hotly anticipated collection of 7 holographic polishes which finally went on sale this month. The colours in this collection were brought to life by Adina – the heart and soul of the brand – with just as much passion and care as The Mythicals collection.
I have a few colours from this collection to share with you this week and first on the list is Dragon – an earthy green holographic.

Sorry for the artificial light pictures but sunlight is hard to come by in Britain in the early months. In natural light, the holographic effect is much more obvious.

The Legend collection is available now from a-england.co.uk with free worldwide shipping.
