    Late Polish Days: Get Sentimental

I totally missed Polish Days last week. The date completely passed me by and I didn’t even realise until this weekend! I’ve had the idea for this theme since I received the first email and I didn’t want to let it pass me by so I’m posting it today, almost a week late. Whoops!
The theme for October is Get Sentimental so I went back to the very first manicure I ever posted on this blog and recreated that. You can see the post here. Looking back is so cringe worthy. Let’s just say I didn’t have any concept of decent lighting or healthy nails back then! When you look at that picture and these pictures side by side, you wouldn’t even know it’s the same hand.
In other news, I got some Seche Vite this week. After the rather long post about my top coat history last month, so many of you have been offering me recommendations for potential new beaus. The ones that cropped up the most were INM Out The Door and Seche Vite.
The only reason I’ve never tried Seche before is the price tag. I know it’s amazing from everything I’ve heard  but I just could never bring myself to spend £10 on a top coat that will be all used up within a few weeks (at the rate I paint my nails!). A lovely lady on twitter tipped me off to Urban Outfitter’s sale where they’re selling Seche at £5 a bottle plus an extra 10% with the code UO10 and free delivery. How could I not buy it?! If you want some yourself, you can buy it here
I ended up ordering two bottles for £9 and the delivery was insanely fast. So far I love the stuff but I’ve yet to experience the dreaded shrinkage!

Both of the polishes I used for that manicure are long gone so I had to use new ones. I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Pacific Blue as my base and stamped with Sally Hansen Plum Luck and GOSH Metallic Purple using Konad Plate M57. I finished it off with one coat of Seche Vite.

    Winter is Coming

I had an exciting evening last night which is which meant I didn’t sit down in front of a computer all evening, which NEVER happens! I finally got myself a new phone, the Samsung Galaxy SIII, which made me realise how ancient my previous model, the Nokia 5800, really is. I also picked up a Helmer so I can claim back a lot of surface space in my room that’s been lost to bottles of nail polish! I haven’t had a chance to assemble it yet but I’m sure that will be another highlight to the week. I’m not even being sarcastic right there, I genuinely love me a bit of flat pack furniture!
Winter is most definitely coming. This week I really started noticing it when I have to force myself out of bed in the mornings. Stepping out of a hot shower in to a cold room is one of my least favourite feelings ever! I used to look forward to the winter but this year was the first time I ever really enjoyed the summer weather and I’m going to miss it.

My base colour is GOSH Pool Party and I used GOSH Metallic Blue to stamp on a snowflake design from Bundle Monster Plate BM323. I added some holographic glequins from Born Pretty Store to add an extra icy feel and finished it off with a top coat of No7 Stay Perfect

    Doooo You Have The Time?

I used this colour combo in my Union Jack frenzy on Sunday and although it was one of the duller combinations, it was actually my favourite nail. I’ve always loved Blue and brown together although it has to be the right brown and blue. This tealy, aquaish blue works well but I can’t imagine it would look so good with a navy.

The criss cross pattern is a variation on a WAH Nails design – Basket Case. The WAH design uses three lines in each stripe but I’ve only used two because I’ve only got nubbins at the moment! The glitter was a last minute addition and I’m so glad I put it in there!

There are a few quick announcements I want to make! I finally have an FAQs page now that I will be adding to as time goes by. It’s something I’ve been meaning to do for a while now so it’s like a huge weight off my shoulders!
It’s been over two weeks since I asked if anyone wanted to pin for me and the response was great. I’ve been a very bad blogger and I’ve still not finished that little project. Turns out it’s way harder to organise than I thought it would be! I will finish that all up very soon so I’m very sorry if you’re still waiting to hear.

I used Cult Nails Tulum as my base colour and painted on the lines with GOSH Pool Party and a striping brush. I added some Barry M Blue Glitter to the accent nail and finished with a two coats of Cult Nails Wicked Fast.

    Blue Skittle Nail Art

Just another one of those ‘paint it and see’ manicures today! The base colour is GOSH Pool Party and I was originally going to do the accessorizing in black but I think the white/iridescent theme works better with the soft blue.
Just a quick update on the Nail Art Contest. I mentioned yesterday that there are some technical issues so voting will now open on July 8th and you have until then to load your entries. As promised, I will let you guys know as soon as voting opens and there will be a few more details to come at that date!

Index to pinky (all on a base of GOSH Pool Party)
Gradient with Sally Hansen Inst Dri Whirlwind White (gradient tutorial here)
Stamping with Bundle Monster plate BM305 and Sally Hansen Whirlwind White

    Perfect Paisley Print

Today is a challenge day and I’m supposed to be posting my Disney Hero but I’m gonna have to take a rain check. This is the first time I’ve ever skipped a challenge day, EVER, so I hope you won’t be too mad! I just haven’t had time to do the manicure but as soon as it’s finished, it’ll be posted. You can still see the other ladies’ hero posts though! Charlotte’s NailsThe CrumpetNorthern NailsPishPosh and Polish and Spellbinding Nails.
Luckily I have a back up plan – more new Bundle Monsters! I just couldn’t resist showing you this pattern, I mean look at the amount of detail in there! I’m quite the seasoned nail stamper and I’ve never seen that much small detail in a stamp before. Very impressive, Bundle Monster, verrrrry impressive indeed.
The base colour is Sinful Colors Last Chance and I stamped using GOSH Metallic Green with Bundle Monster plate BM315.

4000 Follower Giveaway! Day 4: HTF (Hard To Find) Polishes including Gosh Holographic!

They always say you should save the best for last and I think that without a shadow of a doubt, this is THE most exciting giveaway day this week!
When GOSH Holographic was discontinued, there was a collective cry from nail bloggers everywhere.  Today I’ve resurrected one lucky lady’s chance to own their very own bottle of GOSH Holographic!
GOSH Rainbow is another polish that’s highly sought after. Similar to Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure and one of the ‘original’ flaky top coats!
I know Max Factor Fantasy Fire was absolutely everywhere a few months back but it’s not available to purchase in the US so I thought I’d throw that in too! It might be an over statement to call it a HTF because you can but it in any high street chemist here in the UK, but I know there are ladies out there who have never even laid eyes on a bottle of this duochrome goodness.
The GOSH bottles are not in mint condition as you can see from the photos but that’s just some tacky goo left over from where they had security stickers plastered all over them! I’ve cleaned them up as best I can but you’ll have to cut me some slack, I had to do a lot of digging to find these! They’ve been through the wars but I got them here in one piece.

    Click ‘Read More’ to enter!

    Rules of the Giveaway
This giveaway will end at 12.01am (EST) on Thursday June 28th 2012.
    It is open worldwide.

    How to Enter
All you have to do to enter is fill out the Rafflecopter form at the end of this post. There are a total of 4 possible entries to be earned. The first field is mandatory and for filling that out, you will receive one entry. The other three are optional and will each earn you +1 entry but obviously the more entries you have, the higher your chance of winning.
    Thank you and good luck!

    From The Vault: Galaxy Nails

I just found these pictures in my drafts list! I’m pretty sure they’re rejects from Day 19 of the 31 Day Challenge. You can see the ones I decided to post here. I like them and I recall liking them at the time but deciding the colour scheme was too similar to the ones I posted way back in February 2011 – my first ever attempt at Galaxy Nails.

I can’t remember exactly what polishes I used but I’m pretty sure I can see BYS Glittering Purple, E.L.F. Twinkle and GOSH Holographic must be in the mix because I’m holding the bottle!
