    Feather Nails… Finally!

I’ve been in love with feather nails ever since I saw them on Chloe’s Nails over a year ago! I’ve tried many many times since then to recreate something similar but always failed miserably. Well when I was in the craft aisle at my favourite junk shop recently searching for anything I could stick to my nails, I spotted these purple feathers and knew I’d be attempting the ‘feather nail’ again.
This time I finally succeeded and now all I want is MORE FEATHERS! It is very tricky to get a feather stuck to your nail but once it’s there you’ll never want to take it off.

Erika has a great method for feather nails that involves glue which you can see here. It’s kind of hard to explain how I did this myself. I painted on the base colour of No7 Lucky Lilac and let it dry completely, then I used one coat of clear polish and stuck the feather on to that. Once the clear polish was dry and the feather stuck quite well, I painted on another coat of clear polish following the flow of the fibres to smooth it down. I just kept adding layers of top coat and gently pressing down the feather with a toothpick until I was happy!
The rest of the nails are stamped with Bundle Monster Plate BM-212 and Cult Nails Vicious. I used a dotting tool to add accents of A-England Princess Tears and finished it off with a top coat of Sally Hansen Hard as Nails.

    Purple Paradise Skittle Manicure

I haven’t been my usual unproductive self this evening. I’ve managed to book my coach to London on Saturday for The Nails Show, make a YouTube video AND paint this design on my nails! I’ve literally been dropping off to sleep all day in the most inconvenient places, so I was determined to get an early night but that idea went out the window as soon as I hit the internet!

This is my new W7 Purple Paradise that I was telling you about yesterday. Although it’s a brand new bottle, it’s not a new shade to me as I’ve been in love with it for years and this is my fourth bottle!

The leopard print from Bundle Monster Plate BM221 and the tribal print are Barry M Lilac Foil. For the gradient and heart design from Red Angel Plate RA114 I used A-England Princess Tears.
The holographic glequins are from Born Pretty Store and I used two top coats of Cult Nails Wicked Fast.

    Mernails

My obsession with glequins is still going strong! But as you know by now, I have to return to stamping every now and then because that’s where this whole nail art/blog thing started. So I just picked a stamp – one of my all time favourites from the 2011 BM set – and figured out after where I could put the glequins on!

    My Bundle Monster Competition Entry!

Bundle Monster are releasing a new set of plates very soon and they’re running a competition through their Facebook for the chance to win a set! As a long time lover of the BM sets, I couldn’t pass up this opportunity so I submitted a manicure! For my entry I used Bundle Monster plate BM210 with A-England St George over a base of BYS Kung Fu Blue. I used Barry M Gold Foil to accent the design on my ring finger.
If you like my entry, I’d love it if you could head over and vote for me in the competition by clicking here or on the picture below.
    Thank You!

Black and White Challenge Day 6: Color base with White

The ‘Skittle mani’ is not a style I sport very often. I think it’s due to my obsession with evenness and symmetry! Nevertheless, I decided to give it a go today when I couldn’t decide which pretty pastel I wanted to use on my nails and I really love the result. I’m really taken with pastels and I think the love is fueled by my desperation for summer’s return after I was given a taste of it the a few weeks back when we had a few days of sunshine!
I’ve been doing too much online shopping this week and I have my eye on some jewellery from Fresh Trends. I’m a bit of a piercing junkie and I had my anti-helix pierced a few weeks ago as a little birthday present to myself! For whatever reason I didn’t get a chance to mention it at the time but you can see it here!  I had no idea about all the amazing jewellery you can get for the more uncommon piercings like my new addition. I think this is gonna have to go in my rook piercing on the other ear!

Black and White Challenge Day 4: White base with Color

Netflix is pretty new to the UK and I’ve been signed up for a while now. As is to be expected, though, it’s seriously detrimental to my productivity! I’ve spent the past two days vegging out in front of the TV watching 90’s movies. Some of my favourites include The Parent Trap, Clueless and George of the Jungle! I think I’m going to start watching The IT Crowd this week because I keep seeing hilarious gifs of it on Tumblr!
Day 4 of the Black and White Challenge calls for a white base with come colour and I knew immediately that I wanted to use a holographic. And what better holographic than THE Holographic. I heard rumours a few weeks ago that GOSH were going to bring back the ‘VHTF’ (Very Hard To Find) polish but then they died down and I’ve heard nothing on the subject since.

    Brace Yourselves… Spring Is Coming

So even though today was kind of a nail fail, I have to post them anyway due to blogging withdrawal. I swear if I don’t post these today I’ll be up all night stressing about not posting for 3 days!
Today’s mani is continuing with the theme of sunny weather and bright summer colours. I’m not sure if there’s a problem with my stamping plates, scraper, stamper or I’ve just lost my stamping skills because I couldn’t get anything to go right for me today! In the end I settled for this patchy excuse of a stamping manicure.

    Base Colour: NYC Lexington Yellow
Konad Colour: Barry M Gold Foil
    Top Coat of NYC

P.S. If you know where the reference in the title comes from, I’ve got some cool nail art coming up (provided I can get it right) relating to a very exciting event taking place this weekend!
