    31 Day Challenge, Stamping, Uncategorised

    31DC2012: Violet Nails

If you couldn’t tell I’m totally obsessed with skittle manis at the moment. We’re on the last day of ‘plain colour’ challenges today so the frequency of skittles will probably decrease severely over the next couple of challenge days as it’s just a nice way to spice up a plain colour.
For today’s nails I used two coats of Models Own Purple Grey as a base. This is where it gets complicated! On my forefinger, I added two coats of Sinful Colors Daddy’s Girl. On my ring finger I stamped the fishnet design from Bundle Monster Plate BM209 with Barry M Lilac Foil and on every other finger, I used two coats of JENsations Fantasy. Phew!
I’m very excited to see Cris and Rie’s manicures today. I do love me some purple nails!

    Mernails

My obsession with glequins is still going strong! But as you know by now, I have to return to stamping every now and then because that’s where this whole nail art/blog thing started. So I just picked a stamp – one of my all time favourites from the 2011 BM set – and figured out after where I could put the glequins on!

Black and White Challenge Day 3: Black base with Color

I hope everyone is having a great bank holiday weekend! I’ve had a jam packed week which is why it’s been kind of quiet around here but I’m back on task today with Day 3 of the Black and White Challenge – Black base with Color. I love the way this Holographic polish, A-England’s Dragon, has stamped on top of the red black base. It’s not completely opaque so where you can see the base colour through, it flashes bronze. I think my nails actually do look a bit like Dragon skin!

    Thicken Up

I know it’s well documented that polishes will thicken as they get old and used but I definitely notice it most with Barry M polishes. When you first buy them, they are fairly runny and nearly all of them need at least two coats for full coverage but after just a few months, they are thick enough to use for stamping.
Great for those of us who are always on the lookout for stamping polishes, but perhaps not ideal for people that want their polishes to last until they need to scrape the stuff from the walls of the bottle!
The weather here was kind of crappy today and I could really tell that winter is setting in. Unfortunately that means more pictures with this crummy lighting will be coming very soon as the days get shorter and generally more morose. I got some advice from Cristina about her lighting and I think I need to get some white fluorescent lighting from somewhere so I too can have pretty, colour correct pictures!

    Like A Broken Record

Todays Pink Wednesday post is insanely similar to last week’s but I love the comic book/onomatopoeia design so much so I had to try it again! This week, it’s a bit more exaggerated and ‘in your face’!

    Calling All British Nail Bloggers

I’m on a mission to find as many nail bloggers from the UK that I can. I really want to find some blogs with content more relevant to me. As much as I love drooling over swatches from the latest OPI, Essie, China Glaze etc. collections, it sucks that I can’t actually get hold of them at anywhere near a reasonable price.

I’d love to see more info about brands that I can run in to Boots or Superdrug and throw in my basket. So if you are a nail blogger blogging about British polish or you know of any of blogs that do, I’d love it if you leave a link for me to visit in the comments.

    Stripes n Hearts

I originally posted this on Thursday in the midst of the Blogger break down, so it might look familiar to those of you that caught a glimpse before it disappeared. I found it yesterday tucked away in my drafts so I thought I’d post it again! Here’s hoping it’ll stay put this time.
