So we’ve all seen Star Wars by now right? Recycled plot points aside, I really loved the movie! Everyone is talking about the amazingly talented Daisy Ridley being the breakout star and while I think she was great and all, surely we can all agree that BB-8 was the real show stopper. What a little cutie!
I still haven’t given up on the idea of finishing the 31 Day Challenge before the end of the year! I’m slowly but surely ticking off the last few days. The next prompt to tick off my list is ‘inspired by a song’ and I took a bit of inspiration from Bring Me The Horizon’s lyric video for True Friends and some artwork that’s making the rounds featuring that umbrella.
Just a quick post to show you my official Halloween nails for this year. It was impossible choosing just one design from the 18 halloween nail art looks I showed you last weekend so I went wild with it and picked my favourites.
These nails have held up since Wednesday night which is possibly a record for me. I had to do them a while ahead of the holiday as it’s been a busy few days and I knew I wouldn’t get a chance otherwise. My index finger is chipped very slightly on the corner but fingers crossed everything will stay put until the evening’s up!
Happy Easter everyone! The long weekend couldn’t have come at a better time. I’ve had the chance to catch up with lots of blog admin, project work and even paint some actual nail art! Between indulging in a delicious Sunday Lunch and snuggling up under a blanket to watch a TV marathon while eating too much chocolate, I thought I’d take the chance to post my Easter Nails.
You know those weird fan brushes you always get lumped with when you buy a new set? I always used to throw them straight in the bin but it turns out they can actually be used for something! I followed this tutorial by ‘Simple Nail Art Designs’ on YouTube and couldn’t be happier with the finished look. It was a quick technique to use, so easy to do, and it looks very profesh!
The Nail Art
I started with Barry M Rose Hip for my base colour.
The lines were created using a fan brush with Kriston Shade 52 (turquoise), NYC Wild With Passion (pink) and NYC Lavender Blossom (purple).
It’s all finished off with two coats of Glisten & Glow HK Girl.
Thought I’d take a minute out to post my Christmas Eve nails which I’m absolutely in love with. I think they were just perfect for today – purple is a kind of festive shade and the glitter certainly ups the merriness factor, but they’re not throwing Christmas in your face!
I’m now faced with the almost impossible decision of what to wear for the big day tomorrow. My nails are bare right now while I mull it over. Just a few of my current options are an all out gold glitterfest, some red with white stamping and a green on white glitter gradient but it’s kind of a big deal and not a decision I want to take lightly! I’m going to watch The Nightmare Before Christmas (for the first time ever!) and keep thinking on it.
For this nail art, I used piCture pOlish LakoDom as the white base.
The glitter nails are two coats of piCture pOlish Lollipop over one of Barry M Plum.
I freehanded the snowflakes using the Pure Color #10 Detail Brush from Whats Up Nails with Barry M Plum and then picked out a few glitter bits from Lollipop to scatter in the leftover space.
It’s all topped with two coats of Glisten & Glow HK Girl.
