Welcome to the 31 Day Challenge. Today I'm feeling very excited at the prospect but ask me 3 weeks in and I might not be feeling wuite so positive about the whole experience! I can't decide whether to integrate nail art in to the first 6 days of the challenge (which are Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue and Violet) because the rest of the challenge is so nail art heavy, so I think I'll take it a day at a time and see where the colours take me!
Today's pretty glitter comes courtesy of Aphrodite Lacquers•. The shade is smoulder and it's a red jelly polish packed with fine, shimmery glitter and some slightly larger red and light pink pieces. I used two coats of Smolder over two coats of Cult Nails Quench apart from on my ring finger, which I believe is know as the 'reverse accent'. I topped it all with with two coats of Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Advanced.

Pop over to Let Them Have Polish! and Nails and Noms to see what my fellow challengers have come up with today!

Pretty! I love Aphrodite Lacquers so much. ^_^
ReplyDeleteI love the tone of that red, and the glitter is there, but subtle... so perfect!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, thats gorgeous!

Gorgeous color!
ReplyDeleteOMG I know what you mean about being super excited(for now) lololol!!! I LOVE Aphrodite Lacquers! This red jelly is just so yummy looking!! She sent me some of her favorites (12 of em) and I still have not had a chance to play with them. They are are SO beautiful!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the glitter. I've decided to have a bash at the challenge... can't decide whether it's going to inspire or frustrate!
ReplyDeleteI love your red! I just started the 31 day challenge with my friend, and for the first day, you inspired me, and I did red glitter polish with black rose stamps from the Bundle Monster plates. I'm on blue right now, and so far I've done nail art each day, but I'm already feeling a bit overwhelmed! :)
ReplyDeleteI was also wondering why you don't use Seche Vite for a top coat? I was reading about your search for a top coat last week, and since many people swear by Seche Vite, I was just curious as to why you didn't do use it.

Hey!! Just a heads up, China Glaze's current line, Wicked, is stealing art from the artist Abigail Larson... so you may want to keep China Glaze out of your challenge.

I love red jellies like this. Before I read your post, I thought it was a sandwich. I also started the 31 day challenge a while ago. I stopped... I kept wanting to break from the challenge rules, lol!
ReplyDeleteI am beyond excited that you 3 have decided to do the challenge again. It created my polish obsession when you did it last year. I attempted the challenge and I understand why you would debate adding nail art to this first part. I'm loving Smolder. I'll have to keep that in mind for next month's polish budget.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely LOVE that red! So deep and rich and full of beautifulness :)
ReplyDeleteOoooh that Smolder shade is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteDamn red looks SO badass on you!! Looove it!
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous- I love how squishy and jelly-like this looks.
ReplyDeleteLove it!! super amazing!!
ReplyDeleteRed looks gorgeous on neat 'active' length nails like yours. I find it can be tacky on talons, but you really rock it.
ReplyDeleteReally love that red!
ReplyDeleteAmazing red, it´s divine!

ReplyDeleteI really like the shape of your nails.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous glitter! I'm in the middle of the 31 day challenge at the moment too :D It's my first time and I'm having heaps of fun. Can't wait to see all yours!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great polish, can't wait to see the rest of your challenge!
ReplyDeleteWow, this red is a B-E-A-U-T-Y.
ReplyDeleteRed color look stunning

A note on China Glaze... they have made right by the artist, saying they had "out-sourced" the artwork to a local artist... who is probably going to get his butt sued now... AND China Glaze will most likely be legitimately working with Abigail Larson in the future.
ReplyDeleteHi! I´m from Brazil and i love uour posts. You have a lot of creativity and her nails are perfect. Congratulations
ReplyDeleteThese polishes are gorgeous! I wish I had your skills and patience, I usually give up when it takes more than 2 or 3 layers for a mani, but you go ahead and use 6 layers.. Wow!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your nails. They are a great length and shape!! Could you please do a post on how you care and maintain your nails? That would be AWESOME! Thanks so much!!!!!!
