W7 is a brand that I've loved for a very very long time. I'm all about the budget brands and I really think that W7 is the best budget brand out there. It also happens to be one of my top 5 brands EVER! I've just looked through my archives to see how far me and W7 go back. Amazingly, W7 Black was one of the polishes I used on the very first day of The Nailasaurus' existence, so I guess you could say there's some history there!
The polishes retail for around £2 but special ones like the shatters cost a little more. The brand isn't sold in any of the normal places you'd look for polish in Britain such as Superdrug and Boots but I nearly always see it in The Original Factory Shop and BM Bargains. Even in those places that do stock it, it's always uncertain whether you will actually find a full collection on the shelves or just odds and ends that have been dug out of a corner in the stockroom!
Recently, Nail Stories posted a swatch of one of W7's new polishes that she found on Nail Polish Direct so of course I had to check out the site. There are literally hundreds of W7 polishes on there! I never really buy nail polish online but I got so excited when I saw these that I just went for it. I ordered two of these interesting glittery polishes - Mosaic and Salt N Pepper and even ordered my fourth bottle of W7 Purple Paradise which just so happens to be my favourite polish of all time. I think. I really need to make a definitive list and get it laminated!
Mosaic is a blue jelly base packed with Dark Blue and Gold Glitter. I used 4 coats for full coverage which is a bit of a chore. In the future, I'd probably use a layer of colour before applying this glitter polish just to keep the coats to a minimum. It dries quite bumpy so lots of top coat is needed.
It is a glitter polish so I was expecting it to put up a bit of a fight - lots of coats, patchy coverage - but I still love it and for the unique effect it gives, it's easy to get over those little hiccups. I love that it looks like a jelly sandwich but it all came out of one bottle! Also, it's blue = WIN!

so pretty! this plus the 3 others like it are in transit to me right now, so excited!
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty!! I love the multi-colours involved in the glitter!
ReplyDeleteThis is so gorgeous! It reminds me a lot of one of the new Nails Inc polishes.
ReplyDeleteAah yes I forgot to mention that it's meant to be a dupe for one of the sprinkles polishes - Pudding Lane I think it is!
DeleteI was noticing that too - total dupe for Pudding Lane! It's gorgeous!
DeleteI swear nowhere in Liverpool sells w7, I have NEVER seen it! And lawd knows I've looked!
ReplyDeleteI found one in B&M once lol. Nailpolishdirect is really good though, free shipping and the W7 and Barry M polishes seem to be a little cheaper than everywhere else.
DeleteThey have a few in B&M by the Royal and in Bodycare outside St Johns, but you are definitely better getting them from Nailpolishdirect :)
DeleteI love W7 and nailpolishdirect. I ordered matte green from NPD and used it yesterday, it's joker from batman green, like his hair! I'll have to check the purple out. I recently found tk maxx sell W7 too but combinations aren't always good.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIve seen the salt and pepper one and didn't get it :( need to ave a look out again. I get mine from a shop I'm bilston that used to be on a Market stall and they get it from a supplier dont know who but Ethel Austin used to sell w7 so if the rebranded Ethels of life and styles is still goin check there but ive got a few w7 nail varnishs probs to many :)

ReplyDeleteThe purple paradise is amazing!
ReplyDeleteThis polish is so adorable! Love the colours and the tiny little glitters--it looks like the hiccups are worth it for the great end result.
ReplyDeleteHehe, yes, always a good idea to laminate your "top choices" list! ;o)
This...is an amazing dupe for nails inc Pudding Lane, bummed out i spend so much on it now =/
ReplyDeleteI can buy W7 here at an outlet: 2 for €5,- but it's an old collection without any special glitter polishes and such..
ReplyDeleteReally cute!
ReplyDeleteI like how it is like a sandwich too, all in one bottle. Like a cheats polish!
ReplyDeleteI was going to say the same about sandwiching - so much faster and harder to mess up! It looks lovely.
DeleteLove this one... :)

ReplyDeleteI nominated you for a blogger award on my blog and wanted you to know I love your designs.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Totally looks like a jelly sandwich.
ReplyDeletewow i love it
ReplyDeleteVery nice colour!!!
ReplyDeleteI got a very similar look using Net and Wild fast dry Correction Tape layered between a random blue jelly glow in the dark polish. It totally reminded me of a mosaic pattern!
ReplyDeleteI just got Mosaic in the post yesterday, I'm even more excited to try it now!
ReplyDeleteAltho a complete pain in ur a** - that many coats gave it a depth that makes me *squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee* love it
ReplyDeleteI buy mine in a shop in Glasgow called Watt Brothers. My favourite brand of polishes ever
ReplyDeleteIt's the first time I see a swatch of one of these and like it!
ReplyDeleteLove this one! Never seen it before... I may have to get a bottle!
