I'm headed off on my summer holiday tomorrow - nowhere too glamorous, we're just packing up the car and going camping in West Wales - so it's been a very hectic weekend of preparation. I haven't even packed my case yet and we're leaving in the morning!
While I was checking off my 'to-do before holiday' list, I came across a note that said '@Lacquerologist's Nail Art Competition' and I thought I must have missed the deadline by now but it turns out the deadline is tonight so I squeezed in a bit of time to create my entry last night!
The criteria for the competition is that the manicure must be based on one of the days from the Abstract Nail Art Challenge. I chose to do Lines and came up with this staggered multi colour idea. I kinda wish I'd stuck to one colour palette but I'm still very pleased with this satisfactorily abstract outcome!
I won't list the colours because there are at least 15 in the mix and I honestly can't remember what they all are! The bottle in my hand is Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream and I'm confident that's the lightest colour on my middle finger.
To get this effect, I painted on the base colour and then used a striping brush to paint on random lines straight from my cuticle to the tip. I then painted some half lines in the gaps and added a bit of glitter on top of a few of them. It's all finished with a few coats of Cult Nails Wicked Fast.

ReplyDeleteHi Sammy!
ReplyDeleteWOWWWW! Your nails are freaking amazing. This is beyond great! They remind me of when as a kid I used to melt mardi gras beads in jar tops in the oven and make stained glass plastic discs. the colors are amazing. I think using the different palletes was a good idea here because you were able to really explore them and decide, ok, next time I will do it this way etc.
I know you don't think West Wales is glamorous because it is so similar to South Wales, where you live, but to me it is very mysterious, and glamourous too! I was lucky enough to travel to Wales many times, and I can assure you that I felt very lucky and excited to do so! I would love to go back one day. I stayed in Llantwit Major twice, and visited Cowbridge where I bought an awesome skillet. What a great memory~
Also we stayed in Ruthin Castle for the Medieval Dinner and Disco (as they did in the day, right?). OMG, I cannot show mixed company all the pictures of that night!!! This was one of the BEST nights of my life, trust me!
Oh, how I adore Llantwit Major, and the beautiful West House Country Hotel, the walk to the village, dining at the Swan Inn (unforgettable atmosphere!!!), the church. Oh, and I just remembered! In one of the best buys EVER, I bought about a dozen real used pub pint glasses in the charity shop for about 25p each! We use them almost every day, years later. Just wish I had bought more polish back then.
I hope you enjoy your trip! Thanks for letting us know about your glam life and nails! Awesome blog and post!
