I passed a matte black Lotus on the road today and immediately knew that these would be my nails tonight! I totally forgot I had this matte black polish until I saw that car and since I've never done a glossy on matte mani I thought I'd give it a go.
I used Urban Outfitters Matte Black as a base coat and then took my striping brush and dipped it in to some NYC top coat for the glossy details.

ReplyDeleteTry a matte top coat instead? Rimmel pro matte top coat is awesome and I've heard awesome things about Essie's Matte about You. Best thing about it is you can turn any polish into a matte finish! x
DeleteAgreed - Essie Matte About You is awesome. You can use your normal topcoat first for durability & then add the matte coat over that.
