A comment on yesterday's manicure prompted me to create something a bit more summery today. I always have to consciously make the decision to wear summery colours as opposed to the dark shades I normally favour. I have plenty of brights and pastels in my stash but I normally reach for the dark ones first!
My base colour is Cult Nails Manipulative and I used No7 Stand Back with a striping brush to draw chevrons on the tips.
The gold accents are Barry M Gold Foil, again with a striping brush, and I initially just drew thin, straight lines but decided to add a few curves which definitely turned out for the best.

ReplyDeleteIncidentally, thanks to you was classed as 'not old and boring' yesterday! I was at a Bruce Springsteen concert with some friends, and one of the friends brought his trendy cool young son, who is really into 'obscure bands' according to his dad. The dad was all *tell Anna the names, she won't know who they are* but I recognised his tattoo as a Blink 182 one BECAUSE OF YOUR NAILS, so asked if that was one of them, and I got all the cool points!

ReplyDeleteI am the same way- I love dark colors and do have to make a conscious choice when blogging to show something bright. I don't dislike them it's just that black is one of my all-time favorite colors. Black and white. This is really cool - love the gold accent with these colors.

ReplyDeleteI just did this! The colors I used are (from top to bottom) : Revlon Colorstay Coastal Surf, OPI Last Friday Night in Katy Perry collection, and Sinful Colors Aqua. They are a little messy, but I dont really care haha (:
