Many of you reading this blog will already know Wah Nails as a trend setting nail brand. What started as a small business idea for Sharmeadean Reid in 2009 has turned in to a worldwide success and changed the face of nail art as we know it. Sharmadean is such an inspiring figure in the nail art community. She took her passion, turned it in to a successful enterprise and changed the way we look at nail art all at the same time. I have heaps of respect for that chick!
Following the success of her London salons, she's released a book called 'The Wah Nails Book of Nail Art'* which is packed full of nail art tutorials and tells the story of Wah Nails and the 'Wah Girls'.
To date, the book has only been available in the UK, but this year they've given it a pretty new cover and a US release date of July 10th!
Of course, I had to try some of the designs out myself. Left to right they are: POW!, Basket Case, Double Studded and Drippy. The book contains tutorials for all of them.
Most of the tutorials recommend using a Nail Art Pen which would be way easier for beginners than my way of using a striping brush dipped in polish.
The Wah Nails book of Nail Art retails for $14.95 USD / £9.99 GBP.
It will hit shelves in the US on July 10th and you can buy it (or pre-order) from Amazon.com or Barnes and Noble for $9.14**.
In the UK, you can buy it on Amazon.co.uk for £6.19** or pick it up in WH Smith, Waterstones and selected Urban Outfitters stores near you.
