This mani was a bit-by-bit creation. By that I mean I picked my base colour, painted it on. Picked up my scotch tape and just kept adding! This is the fastest scotch tape mani I've ever made thanks to Cult Nails Wicked Fast which really does dry wickedly fast. I've switched top coats recently after the couple bottles of my favourite NYC top coat that I picked up most recently turned out to be really runny and not very hard drying. I was waking up every morning with sheet and hair marks all over my nails! I'm really hoping it's just a bad batch and they haven't changed the formula.
I used Rimmel Grey Matter as a base and Cult Nails Vicious and My Kind of Kool Aid for the patches which I marked off with scotch tape to paint. I used a coat of Cult Nails' top coat, Wicked Fast in between each new layer to prevent the scotch tape from puling it all up and two coats on the top!

Love this! Just wondering where you got your Cult Nails top coat from? Online or in a shop? I'm currently using Seche Vite (which I randomly found in Boots one day), and was pondering whether or not to switch to a cheaper/different awesome top coat! :)
ReplyDeleteLove all your work!
I won it in their competition on Facebook. But as far as I'm aware, you can only buy Cult Nails polishes from their website (http://www.cultnails.com/). When I bought some from there once, I had to pay import tax when they got here :( The tax was £13 on 4 bottles of polish x
DeleteThankies for the info! But boo for the tax! Sometimes I wish I could go visit America just to buy a bazillion nail polishes for half the cost! :/ haha x
DeleteVery cool combination, Sammy!
ReplyDeletelove this! going to try it
ReplyDeleteVery nice! Love the color combo.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful! I love this :)
ReplyDeleteOh that's weird, I started buying NYC top coat after reading about how good it was on your blog! My batch was also pretty poor, denting and getting imprints even hours later. I hope it is a batch problem, but i'm glad i'm not going mad!
ReplyDeleteLovely colour combinations, nice mani :)
ReplyDeleteI love scotch tape manis. I just don't do them very often because they are so time-consuming with having to wait for each coat to dry completely.
ReplyDeleteOh so it wasn't me?! I thought I was doing a very poor polishing job these days but it's really just the top coat ): I've been using it ever since I saw it here and I love it now too so I also hope they didn't change it! This mani is pretty cool, love the colours! I need to find good tape for this!
ReplyDeletebeautiful! I love tape mani
ReplyDeleteMy NYC has been acting up lately too, glad to hear I'm not the only one :)
Very cute!
ReplyDeleteSO how many coats of polish are on your nails? >.< I have the hardest time doing manicures. I bought Seche Vite because "everyone" raved about it, but even still my manicures last less than 48 hours (24 is the average) before they chip or chunks peel off. It's frustrating...
ReplyDelete5 thin all over coats (2 grey, 3 clear) and then the two purple sections which I don't think counts as coats :)
DeleteCongrats for this beautiful blog! I spent all afternoon looking your nails designs. It's awesome. You are a truly artist. Can't wait to see more! :D
ReplyDeleteJust adding my voice to the chorus of people who've had problems with the NYC topcoat - it's been rubbish lately so lots of my lovely manicures have ended up all dented and horrible! Boo!
ReplyDeleteI love the Wicked Fast topcoat! Btw, Cult Nails products are also sold at Overall Beauty. Lovely manicure!
ReplyDeleteFab mani x :-)
