My First Casualty

When I visit home, I take a small selection of polishes with me in a small cosmetics bag.
To my astonishment, when I got back to my flat, I opened it up to find this...

Pinky and his poor victims...

It's the first time I've ever seen a polish bottle broken. I'm guessing it happened when I was packing up and I threw the bag across the room trying to get it in my duffel on the bed, but it crashed to the floor :(

It's no biggy - it was nearly all gone anyway - but it was a good polish for stamping, which aren't always easy to find.

Anyone had much experience of breaking bottles?

  1. One time my cousin was looking through a box of some of my nail polish and when I was carrying it back into my room I tripped over a cord and 3 of them broke. They were all new ones I hadn't gotten to use yet too, it was very sad.

  3. About two days ago I broke two polishes in one day. The first one I was on the way to the bin because it was old and crappy and I dropped it and smash, red polish everywhere >.>

The second was my favourite silver, it slipped from my hands, hit the metal track on my wardrobe and exploded on my carpet. Such a damn mess. However it was only AU$2 so I replaced it today. It was still a huge bummer at the time though!

  4. Tierney - that sucks, at least this one was old.

Marina - The bag has two splodges in but I think it will be fine to use. That's lucky, let's hope you haven't just jinxed yourself ;)

Meg - that is really unlucky. I wouldn't like to have to clean that up - luckily my mess was limited to the bag.

  5. Only polish I ever broke was one of the most awkward experiences ever. I was in sallys, and had a few too many things in my hands, For Audrey dropped, the top completely broke off and it rolled, all the way down the aisle, leaving a tiffany's blue streak behind it. Once it got to the end of the aisle, due to the shape of the bottle, it turned in a circle and made a perfect little spiral, I gave the Sally's floor some nail art!

The woman in the aisle with me pretended not to notice, and I was about to die of embarrassment, but I did the right thing and picked it up and took it to the cashier to tell her what happened. She seemed disgruntled and when she tried to take it out of my hands, the already broken off top that I had simply placed on top fell off and into her lap.....

Needless to say, I go to a different Sally's now.
